This is why you should always count to 10 (or maybe 100) before posting something to social media.

They should treat it like nuclear weapons, you need two people to turn their own key before you launch.

Got my copy of the Adventures of Hajji Baba and while the picture and sound quality are generally excellent, it is yet again another TT transfer that is way too dark/cool-- this is a movie of ridiculously lush colors, why would anyone try to dampen that? Still, it's some kind of miracle that this got a Blu-ray release at all (probably because TT wanted to highlight the Tiomkin score) and overall it's obviously better than the only other 'Scope version circulating, a letterboxed hard-French-subbed DVD-R from TV. Just wish TT would lighten up, literally....

It’s not TT, but basically the look of a lot of Fox restorations in recent years.

By price tier, these all get hearty recommendations from me because they’re both the best Blu-ray release available and the film itself merits owning:

PRICE BRACKET 1: $24.95
THE ADVENTURES OF HAJJI BABA (1954)

PRICE BRACKET 3: $19.95
DON'T BOTHER TO KNOCK (1952)
DRAGONWYCK (1946)
FOREVER AMBER (1947)
GIDGET (1959) {This seems way too high for a Blu-ray that’s been out forever, though)
HOW TO STEAL A MILLION (1966)
HUSBANDS AND WIVES (1992)
THE LONG, HOT SUMMER (1958)
MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY (1993)
MY SISTER EILEEN (1955)
NEXT STOP, GREENWICH VILLAGE (1976)
NO DOWN PAYMENT (1957)
PEYTON PLACE (1957)
THE QUIET AMERICAN (1958)

PRICE BRACKET 4: $14.95
BOUND FOR GLORY (1976)
BROKEN LANCE (1954)
EXODUS (1960)
FROM THE TERRACE (1960)
I WANT TO LIVE (1958)
INSERTS (1975)
PRETTY POISON (1968) (though I prefer the color timing on the German Blu-ray)

PRICE BRACKET 5: $9.95
THE BEST OF EVERYTHING (1959)
THE WORLD OF HENRY ORIENT (1964)

PRICE BRACKET 6: $6.95
ALL THE KING'S MEN (1949)
AMERICAN BUFFALO (1996)

I probably missed some, but that's plenty of recs, I imagine

Strange Invaders (1983) for $9.95 sounds like a bargain. How about The Most Beautiful Wife (1970), anyone seen it?

I believe McCarey stated that he walked off the film in disgust due to studio interference with the script and the production, and an assistant oversaw the final week's shooting. The released film was edited without McCarey's involvement.

I'd much, much rather see his previous film (Rally ’Round the Flag, Boys) on Blu-ray.

I have not seen the film so I don't know what's it about. But what's going on with a main-land Chinese flag and traditional Chinese type on the cover?

It's set in China. Here's my writeup from the Faith List Project
Satan Never Sleeps (Leo McCarey 1962) McCarey’s still at it with his histrionic anti-Communist hardlining in this astonishingly misguided tale of William Holden and Clifton Webb’s Catholic missionaries in China facing off against the People’s regime. The film is frequently structured and filmed as a comedy, though no film has ever been less funny, and the pacing and overall filmmaking is so torpid that there are long passages of the film where it is wholly unclear whether McCarey is filming the comedic or dramatic parts of the story. The last third of the film is also an incredible exhibition of rape apology, because the film wasn’t already bad enough by that point.

what's up with all the Christian/missionary themed films? has Twilight Time identified a lucrative market? while they're at it, could they release Preminger's The Cardinal?

I guess Warner could cash in on that as well with the long-awaited The Night of the Iguana (1964)!

If they strike a deal with either Warner Bros. or the Preminger estate - can't remember which one holds the rights to the movie - it's possible.
