Do the Blu-ray releases come in smaller versions of the cardboard cases too, or do they use standard Blu-ray cases?

O-Scope, any chance of The Law coming in Blu-ray? Any more older films on the horizon?

Hi Jeff.

The Blu-Rays do come in Blu-Ray sized versions of our own packaging (though the spines align with standard DVDs as well).

Unfortunately, there aren't any plans currently to release THE LAW in Blu-Ray, but the image looks great and the encode will have plenty of breathing room on the disc with the extras on disc 2.

I definitely recommend checking it out in the theatre though if you're in a location where that's possible.

The only drawback is that it's printed on a thin, sustainable, gluten-free cracker rather than paper.

I would love to, but it doesn't look like it's scheduled for Denver yet. Maybe I'll poke at the Starz FilmCenter a bit and see if I can talk them in to booking it.

Can I quickly ask if we can expect a Wendy and Lucy BD release sometime in the future before you run away from this horrible place forever and ever?

I'll second mfunk's request for a WENDY AND LUCY Blu.

Looking forward to seeing THE LAW here at the Siskel next month.

Unfortunately, W&L isn't currently scheduled for a blu-ray.

mfunk, the poster is 100% vegan as well. And not tested on animals.

Anyone else notice that if you line up all the releases together by spine number, it spells "OSCILLOSCOPE" ? (Well, up to a certain point, as it's still going)

Take that, Criterion for consistency of spines!

So after it spells "Oscilloscope Laboratories", what will it say next....?

Sweet, Amazon actually sent the Law in one of their hard-cardboard shippers instead of those padded yellow envelopes. No guarantees, since my Wendy and Lucy replacement purchase was pancaked just a few weeks ago in a bubble mailer, but still hopeful

As promised, we've redesigned the boxes that we use to ship our DVDs. And now they are made out of Granola too.

I know Oscilloscope will release Banksy's "Exit Through The Gift Shop" on DVD in December, but is there a plan for a BD release like the UK had?

I've only seen the film on 35mm, but wouldn't BluRay be largely redundant for this film? Seemed like most of the footage was either sourced from consumer grade SD or made to look like it.

Blu-ray is never redundant regardless or the source material. Higher resolution is higher resolution.

It's redundant when the resolution of the format exceeds the resolution of the source material. However, the Banksy movie has lots of footage shot in HD, if I remember correctly.

Just want to say that Oscilloscope got in contact with me and took care of my Wendy and Lucy packaging mishap in the most delicious way possible. This is a good company!

I bought a used copy of Wendy and Lucy and it's got the correct artwork/spine, only it's in a regular DVD case. Were later printings of this relegated to new packaging or was I bizarrely screwed?

This is of course, in terms of the "original image", not true - as with most if not all image/sound devices. You may add "redundant information" to the "original image" - but this information was not in the original image. Of course in the digital age people tend to manipulate everything, but it must be clear that if you (only) have a low resolution photograph you can in no way add original information after the point you shot the photo - after that, its over or dead as Cocteau might say - see Blow Up for further "information"…

Sounds like you got an ex-rental unit. Hit us up with a PM with your mailing address.
