British label that's been releasing a lot of trash and some non-trash. One guess which their Slasher Classics line falls under, though! Initial titles Graduation Day, Don't Go In the Woods... Alone, and Mother's Day are coming out on Blu, and Unhinged on DVD only. If the line's successful, though, maybe they'll get to more deserving slasher titles than unwatchable dreck like Don't Go In the Woods... Alone

88 Films are planning to restore Zombi Holocaust from the Camera Negative - they've launched a indiegogo campaign:

They list it as flexible funding but then state in the write up that they'll refund pledges if the goal isn't met. Meaning the funding is fixed rather than flexible (the former being more attractive to most people!). They should get that changed. Anyway, £7,500 sounds more than fair for a new "untampered" transfer, both dub tracks and new English subs for the Italian dub (missing entirely on the US disc), so I'm happy to hand over £20.

The Zombi Holocaust campaign was met quite quickly, so they did a stretch goal of £12,500 to remaster Andrea Bianchi's Burial Ground as well. This too is now met, so both of these titles will receive new transfers rather than being stuck with the noise ridden debacles Media Blasters used in the U.S a few years ago.

Note: I had originally posted this image in the Arrow cover-art/packaging thread as a 'joke' pointing out the clear similarity to the 'old' Arrow design.

Anchor Bay released the Sleepaway Camp films on DVD. Maybe they kept the rights to 1 while 88 took over for 2 and 3?

2 and 3 seem to be owned by MGM, so I'd imagine that's who 88 did that deal with. If you believe IMDB the first film's worldwide rights are owned by Taurus Entertainment (they of Day Of The Dead 2 and Creepshow 3 infamy). Anchor Bay UK have recently changed their name to Platform Entertainment and are well and truly out of the retro horror game.

British distributors 88 Films have announced that they will launch a brand new collection of Asian films.

The first announced title is Kuei Chih-Hung's Hex (Xie), 1980.

That Asian collection sounds fantastic and would love to see Seeding of a Ghost (1983) as part of this. I think there has been some debate about the OAR; is it 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 :-k.

I am really glad to see the launch of the new 88 Asia line. I can't wait to see what's forthcoming. Anyone has more information regarding the Bollywood and Sex Comedy line falling apart at the last moment, as 88 Films' original FB post mentioned? Over the year, I have surprisingly became a big fan of their Italian and Slasher Collection, so I am guessing that I will also closely following this new line too.

Amazon just sent me an email saying that Olivia's been delayed. Luckily my OOP DVD hasn't sold yet in case this isn't coming, but has anyone heard anything?

Would love if they picked up the Shaw Brothers films or the Golden Harvest ones that HKL never got round to releasing.

There's some classic Sammo Hung/Yuen Biao ones out there in the wilderness begging for a release.

The main deterrent with GH is that the majority of the HD masters are fakes, as are the "original mono" tracks.

The Shaws catalogue is a (culturally speaking!) goldmine that has some real gems in HD!

Granted, those are hardly peerless either, in between the frame cutting and the remixed soundtracks, and other less common problems (missing footage, "fake" title cards).
