Yup - StudioCanal didn't bother with a ONE FROM THE HEART Blu in the UK when they released it over here recently for the first time on DVD.

But France and Japan have it out on BD. The Japanese disc includes none of the DVD extras though.

Some retailers are listing Gilliam's The Brothers Grimm for a 1/8/13 re-issue release (part of the Miramax library; Disney BD is OOP)

The Euro BD is one of the main reasons I got a region free mod for my Blu-Ray player. I just sold my (still sealed) Criterion DVD and used that money to order the BD. The money that was left over was more than what I paid for the mod kit.

Apparently there is BR released in Canada -- I wonder if this is the same as the Euro releases?

Looks on the face of it like a direct port...at least of the disc artwork. I have the StudioCanal disc and it is oh-so-worth-it.

A different take from Robert Harris. Maybe because the release didn't come from Olive. See the last post where he mentions blu-ray.com review

Sounds very similar to the issue some people had with Criterion's Howards End Blu-ray.

What's to figure? It's an extremely popular film adapted from an extremely popular book.

It's just that their releases are so infrequent and seemingly random. And there would be other titles in the Miramax catalog that would seemingly be more profitable for them that go unreleased.

The new one is a reboot and doesn't even have Warwick Davis in it, so seems out of place in this set. It's getting a stand alone release as well anyway! Coaster indeed...
