If the deeply variable first Eisenstein box is any guide, I'd wait for reviews before taking the plunge.

Re: Palisades Tartan
The prices are no longer great, but I'm still more than curious to know if this has bettered the Criterion set, especially concerning Nevsky. Maybe I'm blind, but I'm seeing virtually nothing in the way of reviews or user feedback. Anybody get this or notice any reviews?MichaelB wrote:If the deeply variable first Eisenstein box is any guide, I'd wait for reviews before taking the plunge.

US Blu-ray release of Kim Ki-Duk's The Coast Guard, in January.
Seems like a random title to release, but I've liked the few Kim films that I've seen (not this one), so I'm intrigued.

Re: Palisades Tartan
Has anyone noticed any Tartan titles going OOP recently? After MoC announcing the Pasolinis and Artificial Eye getting (at least) some Bergman, I wouldn't be surprised to see them let go of/lose some more.
They have got the rights to Panahi's This is Not a Film though.
EDIT: A quick check of the BVA shows that The Death of Mr. Lazarescu and The Jodorowsky Collection are OOP (but this may be old news as it doesn't specify when they went out of print). However Sawdust & Tinsel is still in print which leads me to believe that Tartan retains the rights to Bergman on DVD but AE have the Blu-Ray rights?

My review of Panahi's latest, which may not be a "film" but is certainly a masterpiece: http://whitecitycinema.com/2012/04/16/n ... ot-a-film/
