Cinetel is a Hungarian art DVD house. They do the Cassavetes and Bergman DVDs here. Also slated to come out with Red Desert. But check out their home page: look familiar?

They often use CC cover art on their coming soon page when they don't have their own ready yet.

I like how the "Cinitel Hungary" logo on the top right is really poorly aligned and unevenly spaced, and some of the letters (particularly the "H") seem to come from a different font.

i would imagine its in Hungarian and your browser does not support that.

Criterion should let them run their site, at least we would get all the May releases by now.

Wow! Donen's "Saturn 3"!

It's pretty wild to see a Bizarro World Criterion website (even the Browse The Collection feature is similar).

yes its a pretty strange mix.

Bergman et al. mixed in with....well, whatever they feel like, it seems.

check some of the later (post 1990) films too, seem rather weird selections.

They've got a copy of "The General" out.

I would kill for Criterion to release a Keaton box similar to Keaton's. Sherlock, Jr., et. al.

I bought their "General"--it's the recent restoration. Very nice. I believe their AFrican Queen is a port of the Carlton. I have the UK edition so didn't bother checking out theirs.

Sadly, to my knowledge, Hungary has yet to release a single silent film on DVD...oh, except the MK2 chaplins and the single Keaton.

no english subs on this release...but on the bright side it is the same as the Italian edition
