A limited edition Blu-ray box set featuring award-winning classics Day of Wrath, Ordet, Gertrud and alternative presentations of Master of the House, as well as seven of Dreyer’s celebrated short films. Special features include Torben Skjødt Jensen’s fascinating 1995 documentary My Métier and extensive archival and outtake interview footage with those who knew and worked with the legendary director.
Out in April.

Alternative presentations of Master of the House sounds potentially like they're retaining the Danish intertitles. Which is news (as is the inclusion of My Métier)!

It's probably a vain hope, but it would be fantastic if they got Casper Tybjerg back in- his commentaries on Day of Wrath and so forth are amongst my favorite scholarly commentaries, and his video lecture on Dreyer was so good I have it on my phone.

Since I'm sure that the disc presentation will be exemplary across the board, I'll just chime in for now with a plea that this set be packaged in thick cardboard.

Is that cover for it the one Nick Wrigley made for the Ordet restoration? Looks similar.

What is limited about these BFI "limited" sets? Are they really intended to go out of production after the initial run, or are the films repackaged and extras removed for an unlimited run later on?

If the Jeff Keen set and Riddles of the Sphinx are any guide, they become DVD-only releases after the Blu-rays have sold out.

Does that mean it'll initially be a dual-format release, like Riddles of the Sphinx, or is it Blu-ray only?

Given that the press release calls it a 'Blu-ray box set' and that these are already widely available from the BFI on DVD, I'd be extremely surprised if this turns out to be a Dual-Format box.

They seem to be phasing out Dual Format...Eyes Without A Face will likely be their last one, unless there's something where they can only fit some shorts or extras on the DVD and not the blu-ray (or they're simply just of SD quality).

The short films are presumably the films he made for the Danish government, so curiosities at best. Here's the list from wikipedia:
Good Mothers (Mødrehjælpen, 12 min, 1942)
Water from the Land (Vandet på landet, 1946)
The Struggle Against Cancer (Kampen mod kræften, 15 min, 1947)
The Danish Village Church (Landsbykirken, 14 min, 1947)
They Caught the Ferry (De nåede færgen, 11 min, 1948)
Thorvaldsen (10 min, 1949)
The Storstrom Bridge (Storstrømsbroen, 7 min, 1950)
The Castle Within the Castle (Et Slot i et slot, 1955)
Does that mean all completed films are now going to be available on home video?

I wonder if one of those eight will be missing, or if the seven quoted is erroneous.
It's unfortunate that Love One Another and The Bride of Glomdal aren't going to be included, even though the DFI hold HD masters (assuming their Blu-ray isn't an upscale or anything). I know it'd require an additional disc, but I can't imagine a better opportunity will come up for these films to see a localised release.

They look great on the DFI blu-ray. I'm pretty sure it's region free and don't think it's an upscale. Just buy it from them!
