Does anyone know anything about the The Golden Palace, and its lack of a release? I assume it's just due to lack of exposure or interest, but I'm sure they could put a budget product out that would sell based on the success of TGG and Betty White.

Did you ever see it? I think everyone involved is pretty embarrassed by it. I wouldn't be surprised if all the work Betty White's been doing lately is so that she can keep paying to suppress it.

I watched the first two episodes on YouTube and I thought the concept and tone were just off enough to be entertaining. Hopefully we'll see it eventually, because I found it to be a fascinatingly odd piece of TV.

Series' success can sometimes be seen by the media studios choose to release it on.

The Killing (American version) Season 1 was released by Fox last March on DVD and Blu-ray. Season 2 is getting released only on DVD-R in April.
Raising Hope Season 1 was on DVD, but Season 2 got downgraded to DVD-R.
Party of Five Seasons 1-3 were on DVD, but Season 4 got released on DVD-R in March.
The New Adventures of Old Christine was on DVD for seasons 1-2, but down to DVD-R for seasons 3-5. Yet, George Lopez is getting regular DVD release for Season 3 in July.
