Mr Tooze has the realisation that a lot of anime contains totally gratuitous T & A shots, and has the detailed screen caps to prove it!

While this is very reductive of anime, I sincerely hope nobody tells him about Plastic Little (I don't care what anyone says about that particular anime, I still think it is a touching display of female companionship and, yes, empowerment. OK, so there is the nagging feeling that more attention has been paid to the breast bouncing physics than to the plot, and the main character is unsubtly called Tita, but that still doesn't dilute its charms!)

Nice to see Laurel & Hardy and Ernie Kovacs in the dvd section...both excellent box sets and worth getting and "Araya" goes on my list as one of my favorite documentaries. Hope Universal will release "Touch of Evil" on region 1 blu-ray soon.

Any chance Universal will give Touch of Evil a decent treatment? I assume we can't expect six different cuts?

Universal's responsible for all the features on MoC's box set in the first place, I assume if they were to put it on blu they'd just upgrade the DVD set that's out now (with those same features and three different cuts but not the 1:33 aspect ratio.) Or maybe they'd just release a barebones copy of the reconstructed cut.

I thought Touch of Evil was listed as getting a DVD-only re-release in the new year for some reason.

Also, if you're a fan of the movie on Facebook, perhaps you've noticed that whomever moderates it posts random quotes from the movie on a monthly basis or so. The Citizen Kane page got activity when it was about to be re-released...fwiw

As Drucker pointed out, Universal's presentation of TOUCH OF EVIL for 2012 appears to be a single DVD issue (plus digital copy!) of the reconstructed cut with the "100th Anniversary" logo on the packaging. I hope they at least used the 2008 transfer in place of the 1999 one. Absurdly, the press release states that this reissue will present the film "complete and uncut with restored footage for the first time ever!"

Folks not following Tooze on Facebook will be delighted to learn that he is posting InfoWars links... fits like a glove somehow.

They're running a film contest, probably someone he knows entered. $100,000 first prize.

What has actually happened? In the old good days I could see tits & pussies and compare my penis. Nowadays Gary's screenshots are pretty lame.

He bases his purchasing habits on the size of movie characters' penises.

A lot of the SD reviews are of softcore pornos or trashy horror movies. I dig it.

Has DVDBeaver not been updated in quite a while? The last review I see is that of Autumn Sonata.
I just wanted to make sure there is no problem with my particular laptop.

It's the same for me as well. I was thinking the same thing earlier today.

Obviously the critiques in this thread last week hit Gary pretty hard, and he's reassessing his priorities in life.

After looking at his life in regular intervals, he declared it "competent" and recommended indulging, as it's probably the best it could look considering his age and presented drastically improved quality compared to other lives. He then stared at himself nude in a horizontal mirror for an uncomfortable amount of time
