Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Dea
It's true they are no longer offering free shipping for large purchases.
Looks like the sweet spot (for US customers anyway) is to purchase single titles in batches of four. After that point, the shipping jumps from £2.25 to £7.50.

It sounds like posts about the Arrow webstore no longer belong in this thread!

Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Dea
I mean, I just placed two orders for four titles each and paid £74.50 (including shipping) against a total RRP of £185, which comes to about 60% off.
Also, Blue Dahlia for £7.50 is "limited availability," so act fast on that one.

Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Dea
Overseas customers, people across the Atlantic especially, come across as soon as so entitled in these threads from UK labels. Wake me up when any of the boutique US labels offer any sort of reasonable offer for their fans in the UK and Europe.
£2.25 for postage from the US to the UK for four of those new-at-£7.50 titles is an incredible bargain. It was £2 for postage to me in the UK!
This Arrow sale is still great. Just because Arrow were ridiculously generous in the past, it doesn't mean they are stopping make good offers now.

Another note: It looks like there's a £7.50 shipping charge for every two boxsets--in other words, the charge is the same for one or two boxsets, though it doubles if you add a third. So try to order single items in batches of four and boxsets in batches of two to minimize your shipping costs.

Seriously. I imagine there was a time when Arrow needed to encourage people to spend £50 in their store. Now you can't stop us. Good for them.TMDaines wrote:Overseas customers, people across the Atlantic especially, come across as soon as so entitled in these threads from UK labels. Thanks for the info. I had several boxes and many more single titles. Shipping was nearly 30 pounds!swo17 wrote:Another note: It looks like there's a £7.50 shipping charge for every two boxsets--in other words, the charge is the same for one or two boxsets, though it doubles if you add a third. US buyer, here. I just spend $138 for 10 titles, one of which is newly released (Derpartures was only £7.50?), and with tracked shipping to boot. I feel pretty good about my purchase, and will continue to participate in Arrow sales.

Any indication on exactly when this sale ends? I see it says 2017/2018, so that at least seems to fit in with my preference to hold off until January. But until when in January?

The Sale FAQs section of their FAQs page says it runs from 'from Midday Friday December 14th 2017 through to Midday Friday January 12th 2018'.fdm wrote:Any indication on exactly when this sale ends? Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Dea
This is a pretty damn good sale - a lot of titles I bought from past sales are now even cheaper, even when factoring in the shipping (The Long Goodbye and Time Bandits to name two). If my past hauls hadn't been so big, I definitely would be splurging now. Unfortunately the three titles I had my eye on aren't such a catch this time around. The Rohmer set is still 80 quid. Matinee is tempting, but I will probably hold out for Shout Factory's upcoming release, which has more extras. And Waking Life for some odd reason isn't marked down so heavily like it was in past sales.

Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Dea
It's similar for Europe too, for 4 titles shipping is 1.85 then it jumps to 5.50! I ordered exactly 8 items, so I am actually tempted to cancel and reorder again!swo17 wrote:It's true they are no longer offering free shipping for large purchases.

Another annoying thing is that you cannot see which items on your wishlist are discounted, you have to go through them one by one or just use the sale page!
Also found this on their site:
'Q. Will I get Reward Points for Sales items?
A. No, we have removed Reward Points from being awarded on Sales items through this sale. The double points awarded on previous sales was a website glitch we were unable to fix, and this has now been addressed in this new site. We have looked to keep prices as low as possible to balance this, and you will still get Reward Points on all non-Sale items ordered during this period.'

Also, I bought The Apartment and their upcoming disc of Cluzot's Inferno the day or so before yesterday. They haven't shipped my copy of The Apartment yet (and some forum members already got theirs ahead of street date) so I'm slightly worried they aren't going to ship mine until Inferno comes out and ship them out together.

This is actually better in some ways--I used to have to add some things I wouldn't have otherwise ordered just to qualify for the free shipping. Now that pressure is off.

Ordered Grémillon’s The Love of a Woman and Ophüls’ Le plaisir. Not sure how the latter fares compared to the other Blu(s) but at least it has good extras. Hopefully Becker’s Montparnasse 19 is cheap in the next sale.

Goddamn it, the Jacques Rivette set is included in that general sale listing for $49.99 ($37.50 with the 25% off coupon), but when you go to the actual page, it's only "available through our marketplace sellers and in stores."swo17 wrote:50% off Arrow US titles at Barnes & Noble
