Can we assume that basically all Universal and Fox titles will be Region B locked ?

So far, every licensor that Powerhouse has dealt with who isn't Sony has required region-locking as a contractual condition.

Region B Indicator Titles

They were up to January this year, but ever since they started licensing titles from rightsholders other than Sony region-locking has been compulsory for virtually all non-Sony acquisitions.

But Sony titles will remain region-free - and at present they still constitute a clear majority of upcoming titles over the next year or so.

As you've probably seen from the latest announcement, sadly the latest Sony acquisitions are not region-free, and I'm afraid that will be the situation going forward.

I'm quite surprised by this. Is this coming for them licensing more and more stuff over the world and trying to "please" everyone ?

You'll have to ask them - but I suspect you're probably right.

I have to imagine that will put a significant dent in Indicator's sales - obviously it's out of their control but still seems a shame

While it technically is likely to prevent some sales, I'm not sure the dent will be that significant, for at least 3 reasons : it might be that US buyers are actually zone free anyway, sales for Indicator might be good enough even region locked so that they wont see a non-negligible impact, and I'm not sure if Indicator imports are significant in the US compared to Region B countries like France or Germany.

Spring Night Summer Night is now confirmed as region-free, so I’ve taken it off the list.
