What was the exact search term you entered? Just searching Borowczyk only brings up photos of him. Nothing shocking...

Hopefully this means more Martin & Lewis (and possibily the other solo Jerry flicks eg Cinderfella and Disorderly Orderly) down the line.

So did I miss something? Was the Signature line a failed experiment? No new Signature Editions since November (when there had been two a month).

They responded to my tweet a month ago saying a few were planned for Fall 2017. I'm wondering if that will be the pattern for this line.

Money from Home has been confirmed as not including a 3D viewing option. A disappointment after their release of Dragonfly Squadron had a great 3D presentation.

Hopefully Invasion of the Body Snatchers is expected to get a Sigmature release.

Wowhd.co.uk have most of the Olive Films for a reduced price at the moment, also the Borowczyk BD:s.

Well, DRAGONFLY SQUADRON came from the 3D Film Archive; Olive was really just acting as their distributor. MONEY FROM HOME, on the other hand, is coming from Paramount.

If Paramount had licensed it to Kino it would have a 3D release. Bob Furmanek had posted rather pointed remarks about this around the time of my post that you quoted, but ultimately deleted them to not be seen as bagging on Olive too much.

These are all now coming up as end of June releases on Best Buy's site.

Olive officially announced the June releases and it seems The Savage Innocents is barebones, but it is
NEWLY restored from the original VistaVision negative.

As far as I can tell this was not a VistaVision title. This is worth mentioning because VistaVision had a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, while Savage Innocents was 2.35:1. I'm pretty sure Ray recorded and released his film in Technirama, which--like VistaVision--used a "lazy 8" process, though the lens was anamorphic. It's also worth noting that the film was also released in select venues in Technirama 70, which was a 70mm print-up process that produced a 2.20:1 aspect ratio (like Todd-AO).

I guess my questions are, do we know what aspect ratio of this DVD release, and is 2.35:1 or 2.20:1 the preferred ratio?

could there have been a dupe negative produced in VistaVision?

Well, if there was a standard VistaVision dupe, and not an anamorphic Technirama dupe, this means that it would be severely cropped on the sides.

I think what Olive meant by VistaVision was the sideways "lazy 8" print, at least I hope. But it might be worth keeping an eye on just in case the released is cropped.

Beautiful transfer, and in correct AR too. I wonder who they license it from though. Any chance MoC will update their edition with this new restoration?

A lot of solid entries for the Worst cover thread.

If The Stranger is at least on par with the Kino disc I'll be buying it for the added subtitles alone.

The Kino looks great and resembles the 35mm print I saw. Don't know why the blu-ray.com review slagged it a bit.
