That took me longer than it should have.

Other than having the commentary from the original Criterion carry over, I wonder how they can top an already good special edition that MGM put out on both DVD and Blu-Ray.

It'll be a 4k restoration. I don't have evidence but that has been the pattern of these studio films.AfterTheRain wrote:Other than having the commentary from the original Criterion carry over, I wonder how they can top an already good special edition that MGM put out on both DVD and Blu-Ray.

I was wondering the same thing. The MGM special edition is really good so I don't really know what can be added to this release other than the DVD commentary and a higher price. New transfer?

Chalk it up to CC wanting to pull any available OOP title. But I bet there will be some sort of Demme in memorial appreciation.

According to Kino's rep, a 4K scan is already done, and it's supervised by the DoP.

That's correct, so it would be silly for Criterion to re-do work performed just a few months ago, particularly when Tak Fujimoto has given the existing 4K his blessing.John Doe wrote:According to Kino's rep, a 4K scan is already done, and it's supervised by the DoP.

Could it possibly be that it is for a completely different film disguised as a clue for the SOTL, since the drawing was painfully obvious?
Also why no blue in the drawing, if it’s an upgrade of a previously issued film? Did they stop doing it?

I'm sorry. I haven't seen this film.
How is this clue connected to it?

It's a picture of Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. He is a man. That's it.

Jerry Garcia = Grateful DEAD.
Wearing a shirt with the MALE symbol.
It does seem like a stretch but seems to be the best fit I can think of.

The cartoon is of Jerry Garcia leader of the Grateful Dead and incidentally deceased (So a double whammy there). = jarmusch's Dead Man

I'm glad other people were able to get this. For some reason, I couldn't help thinking it was supposed to be Mad Magazine's Alfred E. Newman dressed up like a hippie.

This was one of the first clues I figured out immediately. I’m so proud of myself.
