This is ruining the usual elation I get when the announcement arrives in my mailbox...

You could always avoid the forum until the evening if that's a sincere comment, it's fair game to expect this subforum to include info about upcoming releases as it becomes available

It’s only half sincere. While somewhat true, it was mostly said in jest.

No contradictions here!

I never thought I’d see three upgrades in one month.

Edit I see a previous month had four upgrades. Still a rare event.

To be fair, using the old covers for RUBLEV and GODFREY wasn't the best way to promote a "Coming Soon" product. The RUBLEV one linked to the page that declared the title as out-of-print.

And Rublev with a surprisingly nice cover.

With restorations of both cuts of RUBLEV -- okay, so life doesn't entirely suck sometimes.

And that’s it. Rublev is must own, not terribly excited about the rest.

When was the last time there were only two new spine numbers in a month? I'm not complaining, necessarily - very excited about Rublev. Just curious.

Until recently there used to only be two releases in December

As a Wild Bunch fan and an "oiled bunch" skeptic, I have mixed feeling about this month's announcements....

A glance through the calendar shows the last time as...technically December of last year. Although that's counting the Olympics set. December 2014 looks like it otherwise.

With SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE and THE VIRGIN SPRING having been announced as Bluray upgrades this year, where do we think this leaves the prospect of a Bergman Bluray box for his 100th? I desperately want these two titles, but not if I'm going to turn around and buy a boxset of all of his titles soon after.

Still think a big 35 film box set is probably coming in November, but we might also subsequently have some of the other dvd only titles released as upgrades like virgin spring and scenes from a marriage

If a box is happening, it should be announced by the time this title is released. So I wouldn’t worry about it.

I bet any giant Blu-ray box would be sans extras, so I wouldn't bother anyways

My sentiments exactly. I just hope whatever new films are in the alleged box they will be also released individually.
