I wonder if this means Murray's character is the lead.

A couple of acquaintances of mine were approached in Angoulême recently to be extras and thought it worth a punt for the experience and 100 Euros.
Required to be available at 4 a.m. to be on set in period dress and make-up for 6.30 a.m. meant a taxi drive at night rates to be assured of a safe and timely arrival
At 8.30 p.m. they were approached by Mr Anderson and requested to sit down on a bench facing away from the camera.

Wrapped at 10.p.m. a taxi ride home netted a total outlay of 120 euros.
The price of fame I guess.

I do wonder what Anderson’s post-production needs are like versus most other directors. Since his works are far more planned out in advance than most, I could see them being fairly breezy processes after filming is finished, but I don’t actually know if that’s true

I forgot where, but I met an assistant editor who worked with him. Forgot his name, but he mentioned that Anderson liked to line up all of his takes on top of each other on the timeline, which can be laborious, but it would allow him to shuttle through different takes of every single shot and decide which one to use at any given cut/shot. Regardless of editing, keep in mind that music editing, sound mixing and VFX work is going to be laborious too, even if you know what you want beforehand.

His films never seem to take a long time from announcement to end of production. You're probably right on about them being planned out well in advance. Plus, he has a regular production team that I'm sure makes it so.

It'll be a first if he can get this out before the end of the year as it would be the only time he had two films come out in consecutive years.

IndieWire posted an article 5 days ago restating the possibility that this could be out by the end of the year. If the Fox Searchlight slate doesn't have a surefire Oscar contender within it, I could see why they might try to get a completed Wes Anderson film about journalism out there before the clock strikes 2020 - they've only got Lucy in the Sky, Jojo Rabbit, and A Hidden Life coming before the end of the year - which is a pretty solid slate, I guess, but nothing that'll make a huge splash.

So apparently Fox Searchlight hadn't formally acquired this yet, but they have now and it's officially a 2020 release.

Guessing it'll be in the typical Anderson slot, late spring. I'll take it.

Unless it's a very small role, Waltz's name doesn't appear in the press release detailing the film's cast, nor does Elisabeth Moss'

He’s still listed on IMDB. Sadly, looks like Vincent Lacoste is no longer in this, though

However, the black and white aspect is new
It's not new at all, his last live action film had B&W sequences - what does it take to get a job writing for The Playlist?

A unique ability to use the word “because” multiple times in a single sentence.

Per IMDb, this would be four hours released in two parts, with a director's cut that's two hours longer than The Irishman

Might be a data entry error, as those are the exact same lengths of Nymphomaniac different volumes and director’s cut.

It's a confirmed error. Absolutely awesome for Anderson that he'll now have to answer thinly researched questions about "the original 4 hour cut" for the rest of his life
