Say what you will but seeing that screencap of David Lochary’s kielbasa really has me excited for this edition.Never Cursed wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 8:42 pmSpecial "thanks" to Gary for that...eclectic group of screencaps

Is there such thing as a non-eclectic group of screencaps for this film?Never Cursed wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 8:42 pmSpecial "thanks" to Gary for that...eclectic group of screencaps
(I am taking serious queries on this silly question)

He makes you drag your mouse over the NSFW images to see them too, so it makes me feel like I'm at fault for seeing these sights

I just realised that this year Criterion has released both The Girl Can't Help It and this film in which Divine recreates the famous pneumatic strut to the song!

Re: 1131 Pink Flamingos
I feel like I should wax rhapsodic about this film and disc but I don’t honestly know what to say. Is there anything left to say that hasn’t already been said? It’s nasty and disgusting and unpleasant. It’s also hilarious. Divine and Mink Stole should be listed among the greatest actors who ever lived just for the way they deliver their lines here. “Someone sent me a bowel movement!”
“How can a sofa be out of order?” “Kill everyone now! Eat shit!” “He’s been castrated! His penis is gone!” We could waste hours discussing the ways Pink Flamingos undermines and redefines everything we know about American filmmaking. Maybe we should. What’s better, this or The Searchers? Is it a tie?
But, fuck it all, it’s just so fucking funny. This is, doubtlessly, one of the most purely entertaining films Criterion have ever released - and that’s been true since 1997. If you don’t laugh until your whole body hurts when you watch this? I don’t want to know you. Pull the stick out of your ass.
I got nothing else. But I think that’s enough. Pull the stick out of your ass and let John Waters shove his thumb up there. You’ll feel better in the morning.

Chris or indeed anyone who has already gotten a copy, I have yet to pick up my copy as I am traveling for work. Is the soundtrack the original 1972 version or the updated one that removes the Rites of Spring and “16 Candles”?

It’s the 25th anniversary soundtrack with the updated music.

It's always a shame when it's not Glenn Erikson doing the review.

Re: 1131 Pink Flamingos
In his enthusiasm to open my mail and find out what was inside (before I put it high out of his reach for at least a decade!), my 7-year-old son pretty understandably mistook the slip cover for packaging and ripped it apart:
But I taped it up and feel the slapdash result kind of further serves the aesthetic.
