Spoiler for another Edward Norton movie
SpoilerShow
Doesn’t he do it yet again in the Italian Job remake?
I was going to mention that, but all that occurs in the prologue that kicks off the plot defining him as the double crossing villain they’re after, so it doesn’t really count. He’s quite literally introduced and developed as a character that way, and Theron is only introduced based on his actions against her father, etc. - though now that I think about it, I’m sure that was an in-joke bit of casting, ripping the bandaid off in the first five minutes, cuz of course he’s gonna be bad may as well get it over with

KLSC has announced a couple more Sony titles: The Eyes of Laura Mars and Happy Birthday to Me. Happy Birthday to Me has a couple of new extras (an interview with actress Tracey Bergman and a commentary from one of the screenwriters), but they seem to be the old masters. So no reason to buy these if you already have the Indicator releases.

The Tin Star would be awesome. One of Mann's best westerns, in my opinion, and a film that would definitely benefit from the jump up to blu-ray. It's not a film you hear much about, though, so I don't know how likely a release is.

The Train was the other strong title announced from the new deal but I think they've now announced all titles that they originally didn't want but were 4k ready.

that one was MGM otherwise I would've included that. I haven't actually seen the film yet (it's due up in our 1964 project) but Lancaster and Frankenheimer I generally do enjoy, plus I think its just a much better pick in general.

on the other hand none of the Paramount titles on UHD have been my speed so far until this one, definitely hope they picked some gems going forward - and I trust that they did. I tend to think Witness, Gallipoli, and The Truman Show will probably happen

My bad! It was/is MGM indeed.

I still haven't sen Gallipoli but remember Witness as an effective thriller. I liked The Truman Show but I don't know that I like it enough to want to own it. A rewatch is due.

I recall reading that Kino was planning to release a box of Truffaut titles on Blu Ray.
Any update on that?

I think they picked up the Twilight Time titles, but I doubt they’ll release them in a box versus individual releases

They will be doing a box of the 4 titles TT didn’t release and individuals of the three they did. As of the past few weeks I think they said they are expected for December.

Damn, we were speculating it may be with Criterion for a few years now. Especially nowadays it seems more relevant than ever
