Or a "hilarious" sitcom where David Gregory draws a line down the middle of the office and proclaims one side his and the other Vinegar Syndrome's.

So I guess that’d make Joe Rubin a recurring character they keep locked in their cellar?

The title for the sitcom being "Severin' Ties", naturally.

During the latest Severin podcast they tease the mystery title by saying Laura Gemser did the costumes and it has been on Blu-ray, but not by itself. Leading me to think it is one of these four possibilities:
Contamination .7
Troll 2 (they may be forgetting that MGM released this by itself)
Beyond Darkness
Metamorphosis

I think the last two are still in-print from Scream Factory, but Beyond Darkness' Italian title is Evil Dead 5 and an alternate US title is House 5. And those fit with the sale exclusive slipcovers. While Metamorphosis was called Reaninator 2 in Spain.

Contamination. 7 was also Troll 3 in the US. While Troll 2 doesn't appear to have any troublesome alternate titles.

Does that mean that folks on the East coast need to log in at midnight to order this item because it might be sold out by the morning?

Severin's site often crashes during the sale, so I wouldn't expect to be able to buy anything at 9/12.

Looking at the image of the mystery title they posted on facebook and I'm almost 100% sure it is Beyond Darkness

Correct on both accounts. The site kept crashing and the mystery title is Beyond Darkness

...and the price wasn't too outrageous either, given the 4K UHD element.

Really excited to have secured my copies of Franco’s Black Boots, Leather Whip & House of Lost Women, as well as the 4k of Morrissey’s Blood for Dracula.

These Severin sales are really becoming an event.

From memory the only site/sale exclusive title is their “mystery title”, though often the slipcovers are exclusive, and I guess you could add any of the titles w/ CD soundtracks if they sell out, but there’d be a standard edition after.

So is this sale the only opportunity to get this specific edition of Blood for Dracula?

If it sells out, yes, but I don't think it is a mid-year sale exclusive.

Severin's September 2021 Blu-rays
Drop Dead Fred [Blu-ray]
What was once called “fiendish” (Orlando Sentinel), “an obnoxious boil” (Washington Post) and “easily one of the worst films I’ve ever seen” (Gene Siskel) is today hailed as “genius” (Junkee), “a feminist masterpiece” (Purple Revolver) and “an unapologetically weird classic” (NME): With her adult life falling apart, a distraught woman (Phoebe Cates) accidentally unleashes her imaginary childhood friend Drop Dead Fred – the late great Rik Mayall of THE YOUNG ONES in his sole U.S. comedy feature – to wreak booger-flicking, poo-smearing vengeance on those who’ve wronged her. Marsha Mason (THE GOODBYE GIRL), Tim Matheson (NATIONAL LAMPOON’S ANIMAL HOUSE) and Carrie Fisher co-star in this “untouchable post punk classic” (Den Of Geek) from the executive producer of HIGH FIDELITY and THE BIG LEBOWSKI, now scanned in 2K with all-new Special Features for the first time ever in America.

Special Features:

Marina Malfatti (ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK) co-stars in this 1971 Italian/Spanish co-production directed by Eugenio Martín (HORROR EXPRESS) and co-written by Santiago Moncada (HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON) with a score by Piero Umiliani (FIVE DOLLS FOR AN AUGUST MOON) – also known as DEATH AT THE DEEP END OF THE SWIMMING POOL and THE LAST MRS. Midnight [Blu-ray]
A decade after co-writing NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, writer/director John Russo gathered members of George Romero’s Pittsburgh crews to film a new shocker fueled by equal parts grisly grindhouse jolts and ‘80s satanic panic: Fleeing her pervy alcoholic stepfather (Lawrence Tierney of RESERVOIR DOGS infamy), a hitchhiking teen (Melanie Verlin) is abducted by a family of crazed homicidal rednecks for an ordeal of graphic butchery, shag carpet and devil worship. John Amplas (MARTIN) co-stars in this “greasy, grimy guilty pleasure” (DVD Talk) featuring gore effects by Tom Savini and executive produced by Sam Sherman (DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN) – released in some US markets as BACKWOODS MASSACRE and seized in the UK as a DPP 39 ‘Video Nasty’ – now scanned in 4K from the negative of the long-rumored uncut version with all-new Special Features.

  • Interview with Writer / Director John Russo

A Day of Judgement [Blu-ray]
From Earl Owensby Studios – the South’s biggest producer/distributor of ‘70s/’80s regional horror and exploitation hits – comes what may be the most obscure and bizarre slasher movie of the entire godless genre: In a 1930s small town rife with lust, corruption and sin, a mysterious figure wielding a scythe arrives to cut an unholy swath of murder, madness and moralizing that may lead straight to Hell. William T. Hicks (DEATH SCREAMS), Brownlee Davis (WOLFMAN), Jerry Rushing (FINAL EXAM) and Harris Bloodworth star in this “early ‘80s oddity worth seeing as something very different” (The Slasher Report) produced by Earl Owensby (TALES OF THE THIRD DIMENSION) and Worth Keeter (L.A. BOUNTY), now scanned in 2K from the IP for the first time ever.

Special Features:
  • The Atheist’s Sins: Interview With Author Of NIGHTMARE USA Stephen Thrower

Hmmm...I actually like some early Franco films like Awful Dr. Orloff and Diabolical Dr. Z. Has anyone seen these noirs?

The Blood for Dracula UHD is shaping up to be one of my favorite releases this year. Excellent presentation, great bonus features, and overall amazing packaging. I have never been a massive fan of Morrissey’s work, but this release really makes me love the movie for all of its campy, trashy glory.

Their new release of Blood for Dracula might be my favorite release by any label this year. It’s easily Severin’s best looking transfer and the every single interview is worth watching. Paul Morrissey goes on a sort of tirade that I couldn’t imagine Criterion ever placing on their disc had they re-released it. He’s such a crank complaining about Lou Reed being untalented (wrong), calling Andy Warhol “autistic” (un-PC), and complaining about Socialists and Communists any chance he gets. And the Udo Kier interview included is one of the funniest I’ve seen. He demands a cigarette part way through to add an air of drama to it. I am beyond happy with this release! It’s also worth noting there’s a small easter egg if you press left to the trailers in the special features that’s an interview with Antonio Margarhetti about his second-unit work on Flesh for Frankenstein. Now that Morrissey is licensing his titles again, I hope we see more in the future.

Mine had a misaligned glued spine that caused the top of the spine to simply be an awkard "skin tag" of sorts. I also sent an email with pics asking to return it for another copy. We're in the same line waiting for who knows how long.

Severin seem to have been burned by perfectionists in the past--note the following from their FAQ:
Due to the impossibility of the PERFECT or PRISTINE Slipcover or Box Set, most of these items that we sell will have minor imperfections from time to time, especially as they travel from distributor to shipping facility to customer. Please expect to occasionally receive slipcovers and box sets that have slightly dinged corners, light creases, scuffs, worn edges, etc. These type of imperfections are inherent to the entire manufacturing and distributing process and are to be expected. For these reasons, we will only be considering replacement requests to items with severe damage that was obviously incurred during shipping. Replacement requests for items that we determine to be minor imperfections will not be honored.
