After Life is terrible in its bland thoughtlessness
One of my favorite films. The upper part with the chair is fine. The pairing with that bottom shot, however....

'The Human Condition' trilogy will be presented in a standard case:

Presumably one of those slightly thicker cases like they used for some 3-disc dual-format releases?

Worth nothing that the illustation on the cover is by a major artist, Emory Douglas, who did illustrations for the Black Panthers and for radical publications.

An incredible month for covers. I thought Flowers of Shanghai's cover was a sure winner for 2021, but Mona Lisa's is having me rethink that assumption.

Wow, with the van Peebles this has to be the best month ever, right? These are all grade A films with grade A covers.

Can't say the titles themselves are particularly exciting for me, but excellent covers indeed

Kind of an unusual month for me in that I haven’t actually seen any of these films, but at the very least these covers make all of them look like interesting movies. Not always the case!

I already have the Arrow release; but indeed the artwork for "Mona Lisa" is gorgeous. I thought that the Arrow transfer was X4 (unless I'm mistaken with The Long Good Friday); both were in the very first Criterion DVD (I still have these 2 titles somewhere; and I'm wondering if they were in anarmophic/16:9.
There were not much bonus on the early Criterion release; certainly an audio commentary... any more memories about what were the bonus of the original Criterion DVD ?

Just the commentary, a trailer and liner notes by the director.

Damn they change art directors up there? because this is a significant step up. Color schemes are nailed and everything.

Does Mona Lisa win for the biggest cover glow-up on a blu-grade?

i went most of yesterday thinking there were no upgrades for september then suddenly remembered it was Mona Lisa. The new cover is such an upgrade in itself and so great it made me forget it was already in the collection!

That inside art for The Signifyin' Works of Marlon Riggs is incredible across the board, from image selections to aesthetic contrast in color- what a great package

Received the Riggs set today and it is, indeed, a beauty. Really glad they went the digipak route here. It looks and feels really nice.
