Platform looks to be using a old HD master.

Hmm, didn't even know there was an old HD master. Better than what we have, at least. Not completely unexpected it isn't the new restoration (like I said, it's always seemed more likely to me it would premiere at a festival, à la Xiao Wu) but I was still holding out some hope. Maybe it'll show up this fall at Pingyao.

To be honest, I skimmed through the movie on my phone at the time of my original comment. I'm now on my computer and it honestly looks to be an SD upscale, as the image is never sharp and looks to be quite soft.

More importantly, does it open with Criterion or Janus logos

Can't take screenshots of the Criterion Channel version, but I think whatever master they're using of the extended cut of Margaret is around the same resolution as the one floating around back channels. A bunch of scenes have mildly altered colors, though (the Criterion Channel version has less of a white tint). The CC version only has the dated Fox Searchlight and Camelot logos shared with the back channels version.

Has Mati Diop's Atlantics (feature film, not the short by same name) been on the Channel? For that matter, have any Netflix films shown on the Channel?

Criterion posted a slow-mo 'clip' of Margaret on FB that looks way better than the resolution from the extended cut, with the wacky C at the end- maybe it's an ad for the channel but doesn't advertise it as such... I'm remaining optimistic

And so Chesty Morgan comes to the Criterion Channel. God bless us, every one.

Coffee and Cigarettes opens with Criterion and Janus logos on the Channel. The Wayne Wang titles, including Chan is Missing, do not open with the logos.

Wang could of just been referring to Chan is Missing showing on the channel?

Missing logos just means it isn't with Janus, it doesn't mean that a disc release isn't happening.
