You guys sound like a bunch of ignorant racists re the "Cooley High" cover art.
Absolutely right, the problem with the Cooley High cover is when applying my studies in phrenology, it ranks low on the ol’ craniometer.
Scoliosis seems to be the real issue here, everyone laser-focused on the dude's cardboard thin backside

I don't follow, what are you insinuating? That I'm racist myself? And what would that have anything to do with how long (~six months) I've been reading this site? How odd.

He's suggesting that your account is just the latest "perf" by a certain banned member who likes to come back every few months to drop saucy comments and poke at the mods. If you're not him, you're doing a very good impression. If you don't want to be mistaken for him, you might stop doing that impression

This "guy" sounds fascinating, but how dare he impersonate me! I suggest you tell him to "knock it off."

He's not. It's a bit of a sad case.

some folks on Reddit have confirmed that:

Lost Highway is a digipack, again making me wish I was a fan of David Lynch since all his releases get nice packaging (for those keeping score, every single one so far has been a digipack)

Night of the Living Dead does not retain the digipack and is instead a Scanavo! what a huge downgrade!

I'm sure Chris will get these soon and have the other pics for us. but that's a huge step down and not very promising on the packaging front.

The photo of the spine on the Criterion UK edition of Lost Highway makes me think that the Blu is a scanavo and the 4K is a digi, supposedly like Malcolm X. Weird that they’re doing the opposite for NOTLD

Yes, its in the slightly wider plastic case that is the same as Shaft and Double Indemnity came in.

Lost Highway arrived, with the part holding the discs packaged upside down.

Seems to be a random thing with their digipaks as of late. One will be rightside up, one will be upside down, you never know. Even in the box sets that use more than one of them, one might be rightside up and another upside down. The upside down ones seem to be more conducive to loose discs also. And then there's all the scratched discs… Not very impressive.

I’m keep cases all the way but I’ll accept digipaks for anything with more than one disc.

If anyone's interested, I just received my copy of Lost Highway. I picked up the Blu ray only (not the 4K release) and its in a standard plastic/snap packaging.

I'm surprised. I figured Lynch dictated what all the packaging should be

I wonder if it is a sign that they expect to sell more copies of the UHD/Blu-ray dual-format release than the Blu-ray only release?

All of these covers are pretty solid (I'm kind of meh on Imitation of Life, but that aesthetic seems to be how Criterion is now handling classic Hollywood). This is Not a Burial... is perfect.

I can't help but think the Europe Trilogy cover is a little generic -- like the designer punted on hanging onto anything specific because the perfect image just couldn't be brought to mind -- but I guess that's understandable given each film is so aesthetically different from the other two.

I love Burial but feel like Mary Twala could be more prominent. Given her incredible presence in this picture, the cover could literally have been a closeup of her face.

Yeah the Von Triers have that run-of-the-mill Criterion look, that seems almost AI generated. The rest are not bad.

I don't like the Bergman Island cover. It's meant to resemble a film strip, I guess. The Gilliam and Mosese are the strongest ones this month. Imitation of Life is merely okay but I'm grateful they didn't go for a cartoon look (they seem to save that for the comedies).
