I've got that release from the Kickstarter. My guess is more reflective of Criterion's long-running love of releasing two by a director in the same month. It's more than half wishful thinking, I realize, since the company doesn't seem particularly interested in (non-genre) silent film these days.

obviously there's plenty here that others have guessed that I'm interested in, but these two definitely would be two great ones. I don't like having Branded to Kill on 4K without Tokyo Drifter (which I like more!), and I think it'd be really stunning on the format, plus the Bluray definitely shows its age now. and Bad Day at Black Rock's BD is good but I think the movie could be a serious stunner on 4K, and plus Criterion have the John Sturges laserdisc commentary that's currently in purgatory (though on the channel whenever the movie is, not sure if that's the case now?). just wanted to put in a word for both of those.

anyway, I try and guess different stuff each month to make it fun, not looking at what I posted already or what I referenced above:

Then announce a title that has been released either several times before it, or as Domino said a canonical classic with “theatrical trailer”, “new interview with person tangentially related to movie”, and a mini press booklet.
