Edit: Alright after all the 'older' releases I purchased showed no damage, and seeing a slew of reports about problems with the new ones, I've only opened all of my new releases and sure enough scratches and a thumbprint on two discs. We'll see about their playability- not something one should have to settle for, but these days I'm just too exhausted to pick many battles.
This is kind of where I'm at (the fact that I have too many damn discs plays some role here). I'll just have to play them to see how things go and follow up accordingly. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

What's the cutoff for "new" here?

Within the last year. My oldest release I'm labeling as 'new' is Girlfriends. Basically the ones that come in the newer thicker plastic wrapping vs. (seemingly) repackaged shrinkwrap.

Also, to my surprise, my copy of Nightmare Alley contained the tarot cards that some who ordered during the B&N sale reported they didn't get after a 'first pressing only' easter egg inclusion. So there's a silver lining.

The 3-disc Blu-ray set of Citizen Kane is currently unavailable because of the Blu-ray Disc 1 issue that Criterion reported by email about 3 hours ago.

I’m wondering if it’s possible Criterion will hold off their next sale until March as they have a few times so to be able to include the corrected Hard Day’s Night discs.

Last year, the sale was on Tuesday February 23. The year before (in 2020), it was Tuesday February 25.

I’m pretty sure it’s been either the last Tuesday of February or the first Tuesday of March for a while now. With March 1st being a Tuesday this year, that would be my guess, but of course I’ll still be keeping an eye out on February 22nd.

Good lord…. I still haven’t watched anything that I bought from the November flash sale!

It seems most likely that this year's Flash Sale will be on Tuesday March 1st.

I believe they usually tie the flash sales into a new release and there are no new releases on March 1, unless the corrected Beatles UHD is ready by then.

That’s why I’m thinking March 8th might be more likely than the 1st, but you’re absolutely right to point out the caveat of A Hard Day’s Night potentially being ready. If it’s ready by Tuesday, then the sale will probably be the 1st. Otherwise the 8th seems like a safer bet.

I'm really hoping it's the 8th then. I already have Le Silence de la Mer on my buy list so having Le Cercle Rouge to go with it would work out perfectly.

I just got a $10 code for being a charter subscriber, so the sale's probably the 8th as speculated.

I believe the sales have always been on Tuesdays/release days. The 8th is when Adoption comes out

Got one too. Was hoping my Kane replacement disc and code would have arrived in time for the sale, but I guess there's still time.

Can one use multiple codes during a sale? Like a stack of unused $10 discounts, for example

Yes, I've always been able to do so in the past. I usually only shop every other sale, so I use two each time (which essentially cancels out the shipping to Canada). The only rule I've seen is that you can't use two codes issued at the same time (i.e. two March 2022 codes). Looking at the specific language of this e-mail would imply this will still be the case.

They’ve been on Thursdays before, but not since 2014 so it’s very unlikely it’ll be on a day other than a Tuesday. This coming Tuesday seems very likely, but I still think it depends on whether A Hard Day’s Night is ready. If the 4K discs still aren’t ready, I could see them pushing the sale back even more. The following Tuesday is the 15th, so I don’t think they’d do the sale on the same day as the new announcements. If the sale’s not on the 8th, my guess is it won’t be until the 22nd. But yes, the 8th seems likeliest. On the off chance that it’s not on the 8th, though, I kind of hope they at least drop a “don’t worry, it’s coming” hint on social media, because at that point people are really going to start worrying that the sale isn’t happening at all.

EDIT: Never mind the speculation about it being later. Apparently some people have gotten emails today regarding an upcoming flash sale, so it’s all but certain to be this coming Tuesday.

It seems most likely on Tuesday March 8th but I'll be checking every day until then just in case.

Aww man, I didn't get a code! Is there a requirement to be a subscriber for a certain amount of time before the sale? I just resumed my subscription in mid-January after a 8-month hiatus...

It was for charter subscribers, so likely either you didn't subscribe early enough, or you lost charter status as a result of the hiatus.

I just added a single title plus a $25 gift card to my cart to test this out and got the "Your order qualifies for free shipping" message, so you should be good
