Confirmed for a 2 August Blu-ray release.
A grieving widow uncovers her husband’s secret life in Aleem Khan’s immensely moving debut feature AFTER LOVE (2020). Spotlighting a compelling lead performance from Joanna Scanlan, and already a festival award-winner, the film is released on Blu-ray following its UK-wide theatrical run that begins on 4 June.

This film was wonderful. I blind-bought it late last year without knowing anything about it and was floored by it. The film certainly makes Aleem Khan a filmmaker to follow in the future.

I know the BAFTAs (like the Oscars) are a wank but it is always great to see somebody winning who really deserves an award. Congratulations to Joanna Scanlan.

Apologies for not posting the full specs when they were announced, but I daresay interest in this title has increased since then!
AFTER LOVE
A film by Aleem Khan
Starring Joanna Scanlan

Released on Blu-ray and digitally as a BFI Player Subscription Exclusive on 23 August 2021

See the trailer here.

Grappling with the unexpected death of her husband (Nasser Memarzia), Mary Hussain (Joanna Scanlan) is tidying his things in their Dover home when she stumbles upon a secret connection he had across the Channel, in Calais. Armed with just a bag and his mobile phone, she sets off to uncover the truth. After its critically acclaimed theatrical release in June, this award-winning film comes to Blu-ray and BFI Player Subscription (exclusively) on 23 August.

Beautifully directed by Aleem Khan and abetted by sensitive performances from Joanna Scanlan (No Offence), Nathalie Richard and impressive youngster Talid Ariss, this is a drama of real insight about two women, living just 20 miles apart, who are separated by cultural difference and yet share a connection. A remarkable debut, whose delicate tenderness is a testament to the quality of its writing and performances.
