If Scarface (1932) is only included in the gift set of the 1983 film, I can see them releasing it individually as part of their MOD line down the road.
Sooner than I expected - Scarface (1932) individual Blu-ray release coming on 11/19/19.

Thank god. I almost bought that gawdy 4k boxset set just for this.

I ordered the DVD of Honeyland which I received today. To my horror it is a DVD-R!

Hope this doesn't become a trend for Universal with DVDs or Blu Rays (which to date all have been reported as pressed).

The apocalypse is here, the VOD title The Naked Mile was chosen for blu ray over anything else. In the film’s defense, it has the single most insane gross-out pre-credits gag I’ve ever seen, not just topping the others in the series but blowing them up with dynamite. In a way it’s kind of impressive given the context of the subgenre but whatever writer’s room came up with it I never want to meet.

The line's not dead, but that may not be a good thing with this roster of upcoming releases:

Out on a Limb (1992)
Ed (1996)
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins (2008)
Curve (2015)
Dreamworks 6 Spooky Stories Collection (2003-2011)

Tickled to learn Out on a Limb is an English-language comedy from French director Francis Veber, probably best known for Le diner de cons-- the plot description sounds insane

Out on a Limb is worth watching for an absolutely amazing fourth-wall gag involving two children dressed up
as Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert who briefly comment on what has transpired. It's also an early showcase for John C. Reilly's
comedic chops, as he plays a weird stoned/inbred kidnapper (I think?). It's clearly a film that had a ton of production challenges,
as it is very short and doesn't really end.

Out on a Limb was a film I was trying to find for years on VHS before Universal released it on MOD because of Francis Veber directing. Even after the MOD release, I still haven't seen it and still been curious.

Good news for Jim Caviezel blu-ray completists, I guess. If such a thing exists. On the other hand, they may be disappointed it doesn't have the Criterion branding, when so many of his other 90s works are in the collection.

A great highlight in the film is when the chimp drives Matt LeBlanc home while he's shitface drunk. It's a masterpiece.

I actually remember watching ED when I was a teenage projectionist and had to do a QC screening of the print. All I remember is LeBlanc’s super Tribbiani-esque reading of the line “I’m going to spank that monkey!”

No apologies for not putting that in spoiler tags, btw.

That Funny Feeling is a decent 60s sex comedy, though it seems like exactly the kinda thing KL would ask for rather than for Universal to put it out. Wish someone would upgrade Come September already though!

I liked this quite a bit, and although it never became a great sex comedy, it's consistently cute and there are a few gags that land very hard. The first bar scene of double entendre misinterpretations in particular uses a very old and tired device in the best possible way by taking it father than most films have the imagination or audacity to do. The scene surely must also be one of the longest versions of this joke, draining it of all ideas possible to think of in the writer's room, especially with the necessary wiggle room to test out some pretty risqué allusions!

I've only ever seen the original Shirley Temple version, how does this one compare? Is it any good?

6/29/21:

Mad About Music (1938)
Nice Girl? (1941)
That Certain Age (1938)
The Trail of the Lonesome Pine (1936)

Those three Durbin films were dropped from Kino releasing them due to lower than expected sales on their previous Durbin box.

Jesus, three Durbin films and an awful backwoods feudin and a fussin film. Is Universal committing seppuku?
