Rob Thomas just can't catch a break. Though to be fair, it's because 3/4 of the cast got better offers

The only reason they entertained such offers is because Starz would drag their feet when it came to renewing the show between seasons and giving them any semblance of job security. I'll miss these characters a lot, even though I'm sure I'll see plenty more of all these actors, these characters were perfectly realized and above and beyond any comedy ensemble since Arrested Development.

Yeah, but how many of your friends had even heard of the show? Everyone who watches it gets converted, but not unlike Arrested Development, this isn't going to catch on until it's too late

Casey Klein was my only friend, and now she's gone forever.

I guess that had more to do with it, huh

SIGH. But it's Starz. I literally subscribed to the fucking channel for this show and cancelled today. They should have been happy just with building a reputation upon which they could gain better and better programming opportunities.

I started watching on mfunk9786's raves and am one of the instant converts (though I didn't sub to Starz! but partook via Netflix Instant Viewing). Sure will miss it, but as others have stated, the second season finale was great cap.

(Don't unspoiler this unless you've seen the entire season one)

I'd like to use this space in the thread to argue that the line
SpoilerShow
"Fuck his face off, then when he bends down to pick it up, fuck him in the ass"
is such a perfectly constructed piece of obscenity that it really belongs in a museum

Can't wait to watch these again. I'm chuckling just thinking about the orgy episode.

As much as I miss this show, part of me is kind of happy it didn't continue on and ultimately drag itself down. With just two seasons, Party Down ended while still being funny, like the British version of The Office, rather than finishing while all its material felt stale, like the US version of The Office.

AHHHH thanks for the bump! Forgot all about the release of Season Two. I suppose I should wait until it goes on sale though, not sure why Best Buy didn't carry over the $14.99 regular price that they had for Season One.

That's awesome. Also, anyone reading this who hasn't seen the show, both seasons are $11 at Amazon

I saw this thread for the first time just the other day and I'd never heard of the show. Well, I'm a convert now too. Thanks, guys.

Starz had a marathon of these this morning but they skipped over the orgy party episode. Boo.

Air Canada excluded the porn-themed episode from Season 1 (Sin Say Shun Adult Entertainment Awards Afterparty) on their in-flight TV entertainment options. Though, to be fair, that decision also makes certain that everyone avoids a very awkward/uncomfortable moment when the person beside them glances over at your TV screen to see Ron's anatomy getting examined.

Now that the dust has settled: What is everyone's favorite and least favorite episode? I could watch the Steve Guttenberg episode a thousand times... and I hope to never have to see "Constance Carmell's Wedding" again.

Thanks a lot, Vulture, for that misleading headline.
