Indeed would be great if more companies would invest in restoring TV work by great directors.
Absolutely. I was stunned when Robert Downey, Sr./David Rabe’s
Sticks and Bones appeared in an excellent-looking copy on backchannels about 2 years ago, 50 years after being suppressed by American network television. I think Hodges/Tom Stoppard’s
Squaring the Circle is one of the best things either of them ever made

In terms of Arrow how does it work with UK and US releases? For example will the US ever get the Ju-On series or A Tale of Two Sisters?
Kino has
A Tale of Two Sisters in the U.S. They seem to have no interest in the films they inherited from Tartan U.S., so I'm guessing they won't renew the rights when the time comes. They've already let Arrow snatch away
Tetsuo,
A Snake of June, and
Vital, and
Oldboy recently moved over to Neon.
As for
Ju-on, Lionsgate has the U.S. rights for all of the films in the set except
White Ghost/
Black Ghost, which are with Well Go. That includes the first two direct-to-video movies, which Lionsgate never actually released but were presumably acquired to prevent anyone else from cashing in on the American remake(s). So I find it unlikely Arrow will ever be able to do a U.S. equivalent of that set.
That's depressing. For some reason I always assumed it was easy to get the rights. For the Ringu films as an example, were those by DreamWorks? Or if DreamWorks has dissolved after establishing the animation studio branch.

Dreamworks' rights to the original
Ring movies had expired and Arrow licensed them directly from Kadokawa.

Announcements on Friday:
The vehicle in the picture is a Peugeot Django, so this could be a hint towards the spaghetti western set that has been hinted at for a while now. Not sure what the title is of the film being hinted at since surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly) there are a lot of
westerns that have Django in the name.

I thought it might be Ronin but they haven't done MGM titles in a while.

I hope whatever it is, I don't want it. That Bruce Lee box was already my Arrow budget.

Could it possibly be the almost impossible-to-find giallo Man In The Teal Boilersuit With White Lipstick???

Don't see a dedicated thread for it, so posting here. Wolf of Wall Street Blu Ray special edition is in low stock at DVD Diabolik and Rarewaves. Not sure if it's about to sell-out, but maybe.

I believe I've never see this film in widescreen. Think the last time I saw it was fullscreen VHS. Should be a different experience altogether, especially if it's a nice new restoration job.

Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Sweet Home. Just wishful thinking and highly unlikely, I know
Probably The Blockhouse (1973)

I really hope you're right, the KK seems more in line with Arrow's bad clues, whereas The Blockhouse is a bit too clever since it combines more than one detail of the picture

The clue is probably for a House 4K release, as I believe the first 2 films went OOP.

I can't imagine it's Sweet Home given that there's no indication of any kind of HD version out there and in fact it hasn't been available at all since the VHS and laserdisc days. The usual explanation is that this is because of the lawsuit Kurosawa filed against Toho and Itami for taking the film away from him, but since he lost the suit I feel there's something more to it.

I'm hoping that there is a U.S. exclusive since the current slate is pretty dire.
EDIT: U.S. exclusives are New Fist of Fury and Unman, Wittering and Zigo. So yeah, nothing that interesting.

Well, orange symbolizes the Netherlands, so we’re clearly getting a Paul Verhoeven set
