Zavvi currently have 30% off selected Indicator LEs and box sets including the William Castle and Fuller at Columbia sets.

Can anyone comment on how Zavvi packages their products? I've already had issues with rarewaves for instance shipping in those plastic pouches and getting boxes dinged all to hell.

Damn, Zavvi ship to pretty much every country beginning with B except Bulgaria.

They use bubble mailers. I haven't gotten anything but plastic cases from them yet. Mostly they are fine but I occasionally get one with a disc dislodged from its housing.

Indicator is very likely to have a sale on their store sometime in the next few weeks (though possibly not until Black Friday), so I'd hold off on anything right now seeing as I don't think any of the box sets are in imminent danger of disappearing.

Well, after a nervous wait, my Fuller set arrived today in a bubble mailer undamaged. Not sure I would fancy it’s chances on a trip across the Atlantic, however...

After recently working my way through the Masters of Cinema Fuller set I am very much looking forward to starting on this one.

One title I am eyeing on if part of the sale. Until next week.

If anyone in the US wants to do a group buy to save on shipping, shoot me a PM. Ideally we’d be able to get up to the free shipping threshold, but either way it should be cheaper.

EDIT: A few people have gotten in touch, so this looks viable if anyone else wants to join in.

How long does delivery in the UK normally take? I placed an order Friday morning for the four in print Hammer boxes and had a dispatch notice almost immediately followed by an email from Fedex advising delivery would be Monday. This has been and gone and tracking now just shows ‘pending’ which strikes me as a bit odd.

I need a couple more people to make the group buy worthwhile, so if you’re interested please PM me ASAP!

Wait, is the sale on? I was waiting to see what titles would be included

Yeah same, if preorders are included I'm in, but I forget their track record there. All we seem to have an indication of from Michael B is that the Hammers won't be

If memory serves, not only do they not usually include pre-orders, they tend to not include anything released in the last six months. Also, sometimes no boxsets.

They def included box sets in the past, at least last Fall during their bigger annual sale, since I passed the 200 threshold with the works, though the March sale from this year was a bit different and may not have.

But yeah, I forgot about the 'no new releases' caveat. That helps my decision not to participate

I'm pretty sure there's been at least one sale where no boxsets were included

March had some boxsets, I bought the Fuller and Boetticher boxes.

At the very end of last year they had a sale, which I took advantage of, on all titles released during the year 2019, including box sets and, if I remember correctly, titles not yet out or at least those just recently released. No indication if the same thing will happen this year.

I can say for certain the Dietrich/von Sternberg set has yet to be offered in a sale

Not sure what sale you're referring to, but pretty sure this didn't happen. Indicator has definitely never discounted pre-orders in a sale. The bundle offer is only relatively new and was the first discount offered on pre-orders.

Box-sets have recently been included, but weren't at first.

Of the sales I've participated in, November 2018 included only titles through March 2018. August 2019 included up through the end of 2018. March 2020 included up through July 2019.

Would imagine the best we can hope for with this one is through March 2020 with non-Hammer sets included.

Well, it did happen.

The sale took place in October; the order I placed October 18 included Time Without Pity (issue date October 28) and the Hammer vol 4 set (issue date November 25). They both were covered by the sale, which had the code "bundle2019" (I rarely erase old e-mails dealing with orders). But as I said, who knows if they will do the same this year.

That was not the sale but just the bundle offer for new releases. The sale does not have discount codes, everything is just reduced in price. Box sets have been included historically, but as with everything only releases only more than six months. The Hammer sets not being included in a potential sale severely cuts back my planned spending as I was expecting I'd have enough to hit the insane £200 free shipping threshold (which would save me £30 in shipping or something), and losing at least the two later boxes puts me nowhere close. Hopefully the sale still includes everything else released through March or April, though.

The group buy is still open if you're in the US and want to join! Should save you that hefty international shipping fee.
