Re: Trailers for Upcoming Films
Oh god yes. I saw the trailer some time back, this is another film delayed by vivid, and it looks broad as hell. It's a long time since I saw the Lean and have never seen it on stage, but I doubt they're much like this.

Trailer/teaser for Septet: The Story of Hong Kong, the long-in-the-works omnibus with Sammo Hung, Ann Hui, Patrick Tam, Yuen Wo-ping, Johnnie To, Ringo Lam, and Tsui Hark each contributing a segment set in a different decade of Hong Kong's postwar history. (If you're wondering why there's no segment set in the '70s, that was presumably the one earmarked for John Woo before he dropped out due to health issues.)

A remake of Black Narcissus for FXX and the BBC will release in November, and is currently drawing ire on social media for a color palette and visual effects that can charitably be described as a downgrade from the 1947 film

Pretty fascinating. The Patrick Tam stuff looks pretty cool, and the Ringo Lam and Johnnie To stuff looks faintly promising. Also the Sammo Hung footage? This will be a really curious mix of stuff. The Fanciful Norwegian wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 1:24 pmTrailer/teaser for Septet: The Story of Hong Kong, the long-in-the-works omnibus with Sammo Hung, Ann Hui, Patrick Tam, Yuen Wo-ping, Johnnie To, Ringo Lam, and Tsui Hark each contributing a segment set in a different decade of Hong Kong's postwar history. I kind of wish when John Woo dropped out they could have handed his segment to Patrick Leung for old time's sake. But it seems like this movie has been pretty hard to put together, so I kind of get why they might have preferred to just drop the decade.

There's a 16 year old girl in Texas who is 6'10".therewillbeblus wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 6:44 pmTall Girl: The Film We’ve All Been Asking For
Worth watching for the expectedly excessive rate of utterances of the words “tall girl” by seemingly every character in this movie. Actually no it isn’t.
Guinness recently certified her as having the world's longest female legs.
She could have made a cameo ... or even starred.

I saw the movie and the point is that the lead is more than just a tall girl. She’s special and nobody can play her but her.Lemmy Caution wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 7:25 amThere's a 16 year old girl in Texas who is 6'10".therewillbeblus wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2019 6:44 pmTall Girl: The Film We’ve All Been Asking For

Trailer for Michael Bay’s Songbirdtherewillbeblus wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 7:08 pmMichael Bay beats Peter Berg to the punch, will produce pandemic thriller starting in a few weeks
Can’t think of the last planned release that felt insultingly inappropriate. The Bob Marley “remix” in the trailer is the least offensive part.

Re: Trailers for Upcoming Films
Just catching up on this thread so only seeing this trailer now. It's not personally something I would want to watch anyway, but is there much of an appetite for this kind of thing? I had little interest in watching any kind of Year in Review shows this past couple of weeks. It's not particularly a year I want to relive, let alone in Michael Bay form.therewillbeblus wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 3:46 pmTrailer for Michael Bay’s Songbirdtherewillbeblus wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 7:08 pmMichael Bay beats Peter Berg to the punch, will produce pandemic thriller starting in a few weeks

Re: Trailers for Upcoming Films
I think people are attracted to chaos and nightmarish scenarios for multiple psychological reasons that I can't even begin to unpack in any reasonably-sized post (and after a full week of conducting post-holidays therapy sessions, my therapeutic mind needs a rest), but just watch the news- you get a 30-second clip of a cute puppy and 98% terror- few people would admit that they "want" to watch that, but millions are compelled to and have parts of them that crave it.
I'm with you though, the movie looks stupid and my appetite is spoiled on that front.

I can't tell what's worse, this movie or the conspiracy theorists in the comments calling this "predictive programming."therewillbeblus wrote: ↑Sat Oct 31, 2020 3:46 pmTrailer for Michael Bay’s Songbirdtherewillbeblus wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 7:08 pmMichael Bay beats Peter Berg to the punch, will produce pandemic thriller starting in a few weeks

Did they really have to name it COVID-23?
