Speaking of Cuba, besides the Gorky trilogy, they could have picked up
I Am Cuba from Mosfilm, especially since Milestone no longer seemss to have it in print. Also
Memories of Underdevelopment was restored by the WFC this year.

Are Miramax films coming to Filmstruck? This page, the Colin Firth page and the Kevin Smith page make it seem likely. A large number of Miramax films expired on Netflix earlier this year.

Wouldn't that also make more sense of the Woody pages?

I was hopeful that the addition of another copy of Andrei Rublev would mean bringing in the passion cut, but nope, just two identical uploads.

The Miramax deal with Netflix was renewed shortly before the entire Netflix-Miramax catalogue expired earlier this year. Just because something is on or not on Netflix should not be an indicator as to whether they will appear on Filmstruck. Miramax has never operated with streaming exclusivity and you can find many of their films on both Netflix and Amazon Prime, among other services (including MUBI).
The addition to the Miramax catalogue is nonetheless very exciting. I plan on cancelling Netflix and other streaming services when the application launches and it is good to know I'll have a place to watch a lot of really great movies from the nineties.
I'm looking forward to knowing what other studios will have a hand in providing movies for Filmstruck.

'Animation for Adults', 'Behind the Iron Curtain', 'Yugoslavia', and 'Palestinian Cinema' are the most tantalizing of those, but I have to wonder how many films will necessarily be under any one category.
'Directed by Terry Gilliam/Kevin Smith' only implies a couple films in each based on what we can assume. A lot of these categories could be relatively empty or have a lot of overlap in spite of my visions of a sea of new titles in each

Are films marked with the Criterion logo on Filmstruck, as they are on Hulu?

Some of them have the Criterion bug with the year and stuff on the side; pretty much all of them as far as we can tell open with the Criterion/Janus logos when played, though.

I've been informed that there's two new additions today and both have the Criterion logo:
Dollar - (1938) - Gustaf Molander
Walpurgis Night -(1935) - Gustaf Edgren

Both films star Ingrid Bergman and the directors have phantom pages. Perhaps a future Ingrid Bergman themed Eclipse release?

Another Gustaf Molander film starring Ingrid Bergman with the Criterion logo was added today:

Already out from Kino in the Ingrid Bergman box and is still in print, is it Criterion branded?

Yes. Criterion logo at the beginning and Janus Films logo too. The set is no longer listed on Kino Lorber's website.

Then I wouldn't be surprised if June Night and A Woman's Face show up too. Really hope they got some more Molander besides these. His version of Ordet, completed over 10 years before Dreyer's version, is top on my list of impossible to find films.

Likewise his version of Sir Arne's Treasure would be fascinating to see.

Film Movement is involved with this, correct? If so that probably explains the Pierre Richard thing since they have at least one of his films.

Today, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, Man Bites Dog, Le Samourai, and Powwow Highway were added. As far as I can tell they do not yet play so no word if they look like new transfers.

Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! and Man Bites Dog are already on Hulu. Think Man Bites Dog is SD.

Over the past week, approx. 200 titles have been added to Filmstruck, many of which are duplicates of entries already on the website, making it a pain to try and keep a database of what's up sorted. I'll do what I can to keep it updated but it could take a while to catch up.

The Count of the Old Town (1935) - Sigurd Wallen
They're really going after all the Ingrid Bergman films they can find.
Also, apparently Paths of Glory + The Killing have been added. Looks like MGM is part of Filmstruck as well. Interesting.
