Received my copy of Black Moon today: the inside design is amazing, the wacky C on the disc is very nicely done. Great package

Jeez, watch it with that, for a second I thought they released
Reign of Terror and I didn't even know about it...

Slight tweaks to the
Carlos cover.

Too much edge enhancement, and where is the grain?!

I thought it was fine before. It still looks good, but I wonder why they made the part that says "A Film By Olivier Assayas" less sharp, while they made the rest of the cover sharper.

Wow. The Island of Lost Souls and Four Feathers covers are nothing short of amazing

The price for the Antonioni is cool; the cover is absolute shite however. An all-time bad cover.

Much like their cover for
Red Desert, there's nothing wrong with it from a pure design standpoint. It's just boring.

I actually like it. Gives a very mysterious mood. By the way how many more Universal titles does this leave? I think it's three, correct?

Red Desert was terrible too. They somehow made this one even more boring than that one.

The Four Feathers looks a little like a photo with a Photoshop watercolor filter thrown over it to me, but that's probably something that won't be true in person. I really like the Kuroneko cover.

I love the Leningrad Cowboys covers. Also interesting to see short films on Eclipse.

Island of Lost Souls looks like an Aesthetic Apparatus poster from five years ago. Everything else is boring. Great month on all fronts, Criterion!

Kuroneko and Island of Lost Souls get my vote. A creepy month just got creepier.

The inclusion of the blu-ray sticker has turned the film into
Salo, or the 115 days of Sodom

That's funny, but I think the original had an "explicit content" sticker not much different than that one. I guess Criterion isn't worried about kiddies have Blu-ray access

I'm meh on the new covers, Dazed is still great though (and the wacky C over the target is pretty clever)

You mean upgrades to Blu-ray that Uni have already released or announced on Blu themselves? That would be
Do the Right Thing, Brazil, and Spartacus.
Of course
The Last Temptation of Christ, The Bank Dick, All That Heaven Allows, Written on the Wind, The Lady Eve, The Scarlet Empress, My Man Godfrey, Sullivan's Travels, Trouble in Paradise, The Killers, La Haine, Two-Lane Blacktop, Walker, Blast of Silence, Before the Rain, Missing, Magnificent Obsession, The Last Days of Disco, and
Make Way For Tomorrow are also all licensed from Universal and don't have R1 Blu-rays at all.

I was thinking of the otherwise upgraded ones, yes.

I don't care that she's not in the film; how do you not put Monica Vitti on the cover of Identification...???
Seriously, a boring cover. But I quite like the Island of Lost Souls cover.

Ah yes. I forgot the former USA titles. I should have also included
In the Mood for Love on the list of titles that haven't gone Blu at all.
