Thanks. Sorry about the wrong thread, I don't quite know how that happened.

But fair, seeing as how DC still have less than a dozen releases. They do seem to be carving out something of a niche for themselves, though. The VS numbers game only really matters if they specifically state at the top of any title's listing (seen on most of the OOP titles page, like this one for Heavy Metal Parking Lot, which was capped at 2,500 total, forever). I don't recall seeing that on the Szulkin page, but since it was only live for a weekend, no cache to be had. However, I do remember that the Standard Edition did sell out, which seemed totally at odds with their overall slipcover ethos (go figure), but it also was $7 less than the Limited Edition, during a site-wide sale where things like that cause people to cave into better/worse fiscal choices (YMMV!).Matt wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 4:21 amBooo, modsSeizureMilk wrote:Asked the mods about a Deaf Crocodile thread but they said to just keep discussion of that kind here, sorry. But fair, seeing as how DC still have less than a dozen releases. I will admit, I’m still very confused about the Szulkin set. Are the Vinegar Syndrome Labs releases limited to an overall number despite having “limited” and “standard” editions? The “standard” edition was sold out (not just out of stock) by the end of the recent sale, but there still seemed to be hundreds of copies of the “limited” edition for sale just before the site went dark for Partners Month. I assume both will be available again in July and that maybe VS only pressed enough of the “standard” edition that they could reasonably ship during June, but I’ve got nothing on which to base this assumption. Maybe I’ll have more luck and clarity when the Radiance set gets fully detailed.
I know I’m a bit late to this post but I see 2 main options:swo17 wrote: Sun Jun 04, 2023 5:37 am Did the SE of the Szulkin set sell out its initial allotment, or were they trying to push the LE by not even making the SE available yet? I feel like the first time I noticed it was "sold out" was very close to the start of the sale. Some things do sell out fast, but not that fast. Did anyone here actually order the SE or see it in stock at some point? Either way, I really wouldn't worry about the SE being gone for good
I rewatched this recently and appreciated it a whole lot more this time around knowing what I was getting into. I picked up the Altered Innocence disc (not sure if it's actually going OOP, but you can get it cheap on DD and my backordered copy didn't take long to ship), and The Tilman Singer shorts are terrific extras that thrive on atmosphere, particularly The Events at Mr. Yamamoto’s Alpine Residence. The one caveat is it doesn't have SDH/English subs, and the dictation from the computer voice before the final lines was indiscernible no matter how loud I turned my volume - a bit frustrating since I'm pretty sure whatever is being said is supposed to add to the punchline of emotion before the credits. Still a great short - I'd love to see that concept stretched a bit longer, even if played in some kind of layered recycled fashion like the main feature!brundlefly wrote: Thu May 26, 2022 10:54 pm I'm a big fan of Tilman Singer's Luz, available via Altered Innocence. I may be missing something, but the last lines I heard from the computer in that short before the man's question weretherewillbeblus wrote: Tue Jun 13, 2023 4:58 am I rewatched this recently and appreciated it a whole lot more this time around knowing what I was getting into. It's not mentioned in the list of OOP titles:therewillbeblus wrote: Tue Jun 13, 2023 4:58 am (not sure if it's actually going OOP, but you can get it cheap on DD and my backordered copy didn't take long to ship)
The reason your Sale order hasn’t shipped is because it goes Subscribers first, Flash Pre-Order next, and then non subscribers in order to productively work through orders. As for the June titles since you preordered the Partner Labels they’ll be shipped out faster and since they’re independent contractors they don’t have to worry about the Halfway to BF sale. What A Disgrace wrote: Fri Jun 16, 2023 4:51 pm My Sale order has not shipped yet, but I did get a shipping confirmation for their June titles.
Did you order it during the Flash Pre-Order because that might explain why?therewillbeblus wrote: Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:18 pm I'm not a subscriber and my sale order shipped yesterday, so expect it soon
My Flash Sale order shipped on the day I received my June orders, in fact. What A Disgrace wrote: Fri Jun 16, 2023 5:35 pm Right, I just thought it was kind of amusing that I might get my June pre-orders before the flash sale ships.
I think either they were gifted them by Vinegar Syndrome in exchange for a small snippet of profit or Diabolik purchased copies during the sale and just so happened to have Subscriber perks.headacheboy wrote: Tue Jun 20, 2023 6:46 pm I just came from DibaolikDVD's site and they suddenly have copies of Piotr Szulkin’s Apocalypse Tetralogy (the Limited Edition version with slipcover and book). I picked up a copy as it sold out from under me at Vinegar Syndrome (like many other readers on this site) unexpectedly. Usually there is countdown on Diabolik as to how many remain in stock but at the moment it just reads "in stock." I certainly didn't expect to find this on the site today when I went searching for the Blu Ray of BFI's La Regle du Jeu.
Many thanks for this post. I was also able to grab a copy.headacheboy wrote: Tue Jun 20, 2023 6:46 pm I just came from DibaolikDVD's site and they suddenly have copies of Piotr Szulkin’s Apocalypse Tetralogy (the Limited Edition version with slipcover and book).
