David Burke, 91.
Watson in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1984–85). I loved that series so much and want to rewatch it now. It's been too long

Had no idea he was still alive. Discovered his first three albums during the pandemic and love them dearly.
And seeing how this is primarily a cinema forum, here's William Friedkin offering his take on "Strokin'" after he used it in Killer Joe.

Aside from this, I rarely hear people talk about Carter anymore and I'm sure he wasn't that active in his advanced age, but he made quite a few great recordings at FAME. At minimum, people should check out his best singles like "Slip Away," "Making Love (At the Dark End of the Street)," "Patches," "Sixty Minute Man," etc.

Brian Lindstrom, documentary filmmaker and spouse of Cheryl Strayed, has died at the age of 65 of complications from a rare progressive neurological disorder.

He made a doc titled Alien Boy about James Chasse, a schizophrenic man who was essentially beaten to death by Portland police officers.

I hadn't gotten around to watching his final film, Lost Angel: The Genius of Judee Sill, which I'm going to remedy right away.

Recall he had a stroke a few years back that forced him into retirement almost a year after. Either way, this is a shame to hear about.

Mark Fuhrman, who gained infamy when his past racist comments came to light during O.J Simpson’s murder trial, at 74, reportedly from an aggressive form of throat cancer. He was interviewed and appears extensively in Ezra Edelman's O.J.: Made in America.

Beyond his most notable credits of writing and acting in Anthropophagous The Beast and Absurd (chowing down on a foetus and his own guts respectively); and writing and acting in the Erotic Nights of the Living Dead/Porno Holocaust pair of films (rather notably avoiding getting too involved in the action there), perhaps his best acting role comes in the rather uncharacteristic Italian ensemble drama directed by Pupi Avati, 1986's Christmas Present. That surprisingly turned up on Channel 4 in the UK in the late 90s for a single screening (this was around the time Channel 4 also showed Sergio Martino's Private Crimes mini-series in a late night slot as well) and is the only George Eastman film (and Pupi Avati film, for that matter!) that has been broadcast here.

Rob Base, at 59 from cancer. Best known for "It Takes Two," recorded with DJ E-Z Rock and often cited as a contender for the greatest hip-hop single ever.

A tremendous gut punch. One of my biggest regrets is never seeing him perform. (His one live performance with Ornette Coleman in particular.) But I did get the chance to tell him how much his music meant to me - a wonderful human being.

Speaking of the saxophone, Dick Parry passed late last week. He made Pink Floyd sound even cooler.

Waiting on a Friend is one of my favorite Rolling Stones songs mainly because of his sax solos in it.

His album The Bridge and the mythology of how he spent a year practicing on the bridge to "recover" his sound is just one of my favorite little musical stories.

Also (no relation, presumably) Geoffrey Keating of the Master Singers, who sang weather reports and the Highway Code and got them onto the charts, and played on Peter Sellers's Beatles cover (all produced by George Martin)

An absolutely monumental talent. That opening of Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore is stunning, as is the editing of the dog fights in Return of the Jedi
