Here's to hoping that Cusack can make this more worth your while than Day After Tomorrow

The teaser looks pretty cool for whatever thats worth. http://www.moviefone.com/movie/2012/30165/hd/480" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For everyone who thought that all that Emmerich's previous apocalyptic epic was lacking was a Batman Begins-esque sequence in a mountaintop monastary, your dreams have come to fruition.

Unlike Tarantino, it at least seems to know it's ridiculous.

Russell Mulcahy's pulpy Give 'Em Hell, Malone with Tom Jane. My affection for old noir paperbacks makes me want to support a project like this even if it turns out lousy in the end.

It looks awesome but can the same mind who brought us Resident Evil: Extinction and Scorpion King 2 deliver a movie that looked half as good as that trailer? If he does I'll be shocked. That trailer was edited so well the film looked like it oozed cinematic awesomeness but a quick check on Russell Mulcahy's imdb and a little bit of logic makes me think otherwise. Awesome trailer, hope it's an awesome movie, but chances are it'll turn out lousy.

(say no to) Film trailers

Is there anyone else who like me never ever watches film trailers? I hate to, I think it's disgusting.
Sean Penn, by the way, doesn't like to either.

If I ever become a film director I would try my best to market the film without any trailers or 'spots'.

Sounds like a good marketing strategy :?. They can work, you know. Have you ever seen the Little Children trailer? Even Godard cut that Mouchette trailer. I'll agree that they can sometimes be absolutely misleading, but I still think Sean Penn and you are silly.

So how did Sabretooth go from 6'8'' (Tyler Mane) to 6'2'' (or whatever height Liev Shreiber is)? Really delayed puberty?

At least where Hollywood is concerned, I think there's usually more aesthetic experimentation and cinematic competence from people making trailers than there is from the films themselves. Plus trailers are free.
