John Woo's Silent Night

Some of the CGI (especially that car crash) looks iffy but I'm still looking forward to this.

Don’t know what to make of that trailer. It comes across as a grindhouse romp, yet the actual footage taken on its own looks tortured, grim, and violent. And Woo isn’t known for his light touch. So…who know what this’ll be. At least Woo can finally make an American film without worrying about having to rein in the violence.

Did you know that honey is flammable as f*ck? Jason Statham is a beekeeper and also a B.E.E.K.E.E.P.E.R.(*), doing revenge on Jeremy Irons and Minnie Driver and all the evil minions who made Clair Huxtable click an unsafe link in David Ayer's The Beekeeper. (Link safe, but NSFW. Also NIN.)

This had better be as dumb as it looks.

(*) Guessing, praying it's an acronym

This version of the Theo Angelopoulous film seems to have a lot more quickly edited shots in it than I remembered.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

I had no idea they were going to continue these, and they managed to get Bill Murray. I still haven't seen the last one, Afterlife.

Which was the English-language title of Duelles, which I quite liked in its festival run a few years back, and which I recommended and some of us discussed when it played online in MyFrenchFilmFestival.

Would you rather watch Adam Sandler abandon Carey Mulligan for a giant digital emotional support spider voiced by Paul Dano, or pre-grieve with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and a giant digital parrot voiced by Cookie Monster?

Fourth sequel to a lightning in a bottle film from the 80’s that didn’t need any.

No, that other franchise!

Incredibly excited for these. Open Range is one of my favorite American studio films of the 2000s

The landscape shots are a definite highlight of this trailer. And maybe Costner is the first person to coax a good performance out of Sam Worthington. And thank you for reminding me to watch Open Range again. I only saw it way back on its theatrical release but remember liking it a great deal.

Wow, this looks like it has the potential to blow its already-great predecessor out of the water. And like that film, I expect the OST will be even better than the feature.
