Nick Newman interview with Korine, in which he reveals that long-time gestating project
The Trap is being made as an anime (still set in Miami) by a Tokyo production studio, and his next film is likely to be
Twinkle Twinkle, which is an animated feature being produced entirely in a gaming engine.
Re:
The Trap:
Harmony Korine wrote:Well, it’s the best script that I’ve ever written, without question. ... That is the most perfect script that I’ve written; the best writing, the most I’ve put into just a pure piece of screenplay.

Harmony Korine Has Something to Say
Is there anything you haven’t done in a while that you’d like to?
I feel like making a movie again. There’s a lot of stuff in the works with animation and gaming engines but it’s been almost a decade since I made a film, something scripted. There’s sometimes images you can’t get out any other way.
Do you want to make it in Miami?
My family is here, but I also like the idea of going somewhere else, like the Caribbean.

I'm trying to imagine now what a Harmony Korine film about
Jimmy "Barbecue" Chérizier of Haiti would be like.

It's a doc, but Ghosts of Cité Soleil might give you an idea, and I doubt Harm could bring much more to it.

Rita Ackermann and Harmony Korine Catch Up for 17 Minutes
Rita Ackermann is so cool.
Harmony seems to be living his best divorced dad life and getting closer to a new film:
ACKERMANN: What is the next movie you’re doing? Can you talk about it?
KORINE: I’m not sure. I have a few ideas. I’ve started writing again. I probably want to make something next year, but I’m not a hundred percent sure what. But I started enjoying writing again.
ACKERMANN: Oh, that’s good. Script?
KORINE: Yeah, scripts. Let’s see where we go with things.
ACKERMANN: Let’s see. I feel this fall there are going to be some big things coming.
KORINE: Fishing boats, Slim Jims, and eye spasms.
