You do realize this will be the fourth adaptation, correct?

Yup. I was more or less poking fun at the filmmakers, suggesting that they are playing to plain folks who only know the Heston version and they are working off that premise.

James Ponsoldt to adapt I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story Of The Music Video Revolution, the excellent book about the network's early days and first decade. Presumably it'll be mostly about how it was built from the ground up as discussed in it's first chapters.

So no discussion of the fight with MJ because MTV was super racist?

Those issues are handled in the book, but I think the better movie is in how the idea of a 24/7 television channel dedicated to music was developed and sold to people. More importantly, not sold to some because in the early days they had disputes with the labels over royalties and such.

I'd cast Jennifer Lawrence as Nina Blackwood.

Mel Gibson may be returning for The Resurrection of The Christ. It's kind of hard to imagine as he would seem more capable of The Passion narrative but who knows. It will be interesting at the very least to see what his artistic models are this time around--some kind of extension, I would assume, of the same ones he used for the previous film.

The producers realized it was a bad idea to make one Tetris movie, so... they're making three instead

What do you bet that the tagline for the third film will be: "now see the pieces all finally fall into place!"

These are the people who made Foodfight! They will never get to the third film and I'd be surprised if they even make the first.

That's surprising. I guess they weren't deterred by this.

Because Hollywood Reporter is getting it wrong - the title is not Ocean's Ocho, that's just a fun nickname that Gary Ross and the cast have used for it occasionally. It's just Ocean's Eight, as it should be.

Last reports said Clooney would be too busy to do anything with this, even a small cameo, which makes me honestly wonder what the entire point of this enterprise would be.

(I'm a little confused that the various outfits are saying they've filled seven of the eight slots, though - whilst we know that Bullock/Blanchett are the Clooney/Pitt figures surely one of these others could just as well be the Andy Garcia character?)

A biopic for Nico. Not usually a fan of biopics, especially of well known people. But this does peak my interest.

Still want Tilda Swinton to play Nico even though the actress is older now than the singer ever lived to be.
