Wenders and Lee are similar in that they’ve generally produced far better documentaries than fictional narratives in recent years!

I thought a lot of people really liked Da Five Bloods. But it had the misfortune to come out Summer 2020, so it's only ever been available on Netflix.

Here it was released with the Weinstein's cut. Years after, on DVD, the same, that American cut.

Mind you, the other day I stumbled across a bona fide lunatic who was convinced that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs never happened—the bombing raids were the same as the ones that hit Tokyo and other cities. The rationale was similarly flimsy (if I remember rightly, it primarily revolved around the fact that some buildings were left standing), and when it transpired that she didn’t even know that the bombs were detonated hundreds of feet above the cities and that the surviving buildings were directly below the detonation, it became clear that the prospect of any fruitful dialogue was pretty much zero.

I have every possible admiration for people like Copernicus, Galileo, and Darwin, who really did manage to overturn centuries of scientific consensus, but the fact that such pioneers are (a) incredibly rare, (b) fully aware of the existing consensus in every way, and (c) experts in their relevant disciplines at the highest level doesn’t seem to deter these Dunning-Kruger case studies.
