I wonder if they could get The Limey.

Whoever releases The Limey on Blu-ray must keep the wonderful commentary in which Dobbs and Soderbergh sustain a friendly (though at times heated) argument about the authorship of the film.

Absolutely, plus the DVD already had an isolated music track with TT seems to love adding to these releases.

On the other hand, I just saw a post on the Twilight Time Facebook page where someone commented that the subtitles for when the characters are speaking in Hawaiian are missing from the HD encode (supposedly the SD roadshow version has them). TT is blaming the studio, but if that's the case, I think TT should have chosen not to release the film until MGM was willing to correct it. Glad I didn't order the disc yet.
The SD Roadshow version is presented in non-anamorphic 'Scope, so a tiny little rectangle in the center of the Blu-ray frame. Unbelievable, what a shitshow this release is.

Remember, this is the movie that gave Gene Siskel a 98 minute boner

Think I'll still pass on that signed copy... but Infra-Man is now on my amazon prime watchlist.

Twenty minutes after it went live on site, the autographed Summer Lovers is apparently still available. Has it ever taken this long for an autographed disc to sell? I remember in the past most autographed editions disappeared within about 2 minutes.

I don't have specifics but a few freebies have taken several hours, perhaps even a day or so, to be "sold". Note that there is no other new stuff going on today, no pre-releases becoming available, no sale starting up, (presumably) no coupons. When things disappear quickly either some of these other things are also happening or it's a very in demand title.

I see. I think I've only gone after three of these in the past (managed to snatch all of them too!), and they went very quickly.

The last couple freebies have taken over a day to get sold out-- they moved the giveaway days separate from preorder days and for whatever reason, enough people keep preordering without waiting for the inevitable free offers. I guess intelligence and blind devotion to TT are not synonymous...

Beaver on the "new" The Big Heat. Looks nearly identical to first edition.

Which is doubtless why they're calling it an "encore" release, what?

They already said it was the exact same transfer. The only difference on the disc is that the original release was done when Sony restricted then from including bonus materials.

So did a 4k restoration ever come to fruition? Was the restoration done and not released?

Gary is stating that the transfers may not be identical but very close and that the new one might be better:
Twilight Time's new 1080P has moved the pixels around but it's as close as dammit is to swearing in replicating the original release. Grain may be exported slightly differently and perhaps even superior in some instances but it's the same HD transfer - more or less.
He does go on to say that both TT versions are the best transfers of the bunch.

I think the transfer that has been released (both times) IS a 4K restoration.

OK, so transfer/encode is slightly different, but same 4K HD source each time.

Actually, it seems the bitrate graphes are identical so the video encode might even be the same.

if you look closely at the graphs, not identical :)

But highly doubtful anyone could actually spot any difference when they are watching.

TT's Exodus will feature original six track audio for the first time on home video
Twilight Time is proud to announce that our upcoming blu-ray of EXODUS (1960), will feature the original six-track audio culled from the 70 mm elements for the first time on home video! Meticulously restored by the brilliant reconstructionist Mike Matessino, the new blu-ray will feature no less than 4 audio configurations -- a brand new 5.1 up mix from the multi-tracks, the original 4.0, the 2.0 mix down, and the music & effects track to better appreciate Ernest Gold's majestic score -- pre-orders open on Wednesday, March 2nd at 4 pm EST -- don't miss it!
