They've also released the Truffauts.

Their selection is pretty wonky (lots of their titles just aren't available on their own site!) but I strongly recommend the World of Henry Orient for those participating in the Youth List. One of the best film representations of youth ever-- the first thirty minutes or so are just perfect.

I'd second The World of Henry Orient. It's a lovely film, one of Hill's best. I particularly enjoyed Julie Kirgo's perspective on the commentary.

Just titles released through January of this year will be on sale.

I just picked up Born Yesterday w/ a bunch of clear cases. Will probably go back to pick up the two Allens I still need to before the end of the sale - I always appreciate how TT's sales for the most part are lengthy enough to make the fact they're still more expensive than most BDs easier to swallow.

Thanks for the heads up on this -- I picked up the Radford film of 1984 that I've had an eye on for a while.

"Is it safe?" - looks a little bit different than "Marathon Man" (I'm not so sure that it would be safer to watch this movie )

the existential question would be : will the subtitles be forced (aka - even worst = ingrained) like on the F.Truffaut titles (Adèle H., etc...) ?
I have a lot of T.Time Blu-Ray but all of them are in English.
Are the others like La Bambola di Satana or Albator aka Harlock : Space Pirate with forced subtitled ? or the usual/common SDH removable/optional subtitles ?
I suppose that the ingrained subtitles for the F.Truffaut titles were for some (c) reasons (even if - for the moment) these titles haven't been released in France or in GB...

Question about the Truffaut titles - Beaver says the yellow subs are "burned in" on all three discs. They sure look like digital subs in the screenshots, though. Does anyone have these that can verify whether they're actually burned in or just forced? I can handle forced digital subs, but if they're actually burned in I'm not interested.

They're not burned in. They are digital, but forced and can't be toggled off when watching the non-English audio.

Incredible news! Wow. I remember hearing TT were set to release this in 2016 like two years ago but I didn't know it was happening until right now. Can't wait til Tuesday -- that was an instant pre-order for me, one of my very favorite films (and novels...), and the old MGM DVD was only marginally watchable, especially the night scenes. OK, maybe not that bad in the general scheme of poor early-2000's transfers, but it was still pretty mediocre. I can't wait to see this beautifully-shot, haunting, utterly unique, tragic and funny film in HD. Also, without this film we easily might not have gotten The Big Lebowski, for whatever that's worth -- and I feel PTA probably had it in mind when making Inherent Vice, too.

In other words, if you want to trace the lineage of "slacker noir" or "stoner noir" then Cutter's Way would be right at the top with The Long Goodbye. I actually prefer Cutter's Way to Altman's great film -- despite its noir plot and somewhat familiar Vietnam-era themes (echoes of The Parallax View, Blowup/Blowout and definitely Chinatown, to name a few), it still looks and moves and feels not quite like any other film of its kind. It's not so much a noir about a bunch of slackers, drunks, or stoners as it is a noir that soaks that very lazy quality into its very own form, creating something like the filmic equivalent of a lazy Sunday afternoon spent hungover on the couch as the Santa Barbara sun seeps in through the Venetian blinds.

In many ways, I like to consider Cutter as one of two films from 1981 that signifies the real end of the New Hollywood movement. When are we gonna get the other film on blu? I speak of Lumet's crowning achievement, Prince of the City. (Interestingly, just like Passer's film, although Prince was shot at the dawn of the Reagan era it was actually set in the mid-70s, thus giving both films a very 70s feel; they seem more at home in 1973 or 1974 or so than in 1981).

I don't know this movie "In The French Style". Who already saw it and could recommend it to me ?
Is it a better movie than "Les Grandes Personnes" (aka Time Out for Love) released on blu-ray by Gaumont in French ?. I've been a disappointed by this movie. Not that it was not a delightfull pleasure to see Jean Seberg with ponytail then getting the Breathless haircut... but the story didn't work well... Maurice Ronet seems to outplay what would become one of his greatest movie Le Feu Follet (it looks as if he's a parody of his character of "Le Feu Follet" in this movie)... which such cast I expected something much more "striking", besides the pleasure to see Jean Seberg with ponytail and various outfits...

in the T.Time catalog I have of course the Otto Preminger movie of Françoise Sagan's book.

Not certain on this. Looking at rips online suggests the subtitles are are burnt into the video for Mermaid and Adele at least, and that the same is probably true for The Bride Wore Black but you can rip and sync the French audio to the English version that comes with optional subtitles.

I don't own them myself. That was what I recalled from previous online discussions, but maybe I'm misremembering.

The Blu-Ray of "Adele H." I ""grabbed"" had ingrained/burned in subtitles (the same big yellow subtitles) like the captures at DVDBeaver.
I don't know for "La Mariée était en noir".

The Gang's All Here seems like a bit of a departure from TT's usual remit.

For any region locked folks, I think The Gang's All Here is quite an exciting announcement. Wonderful film, and it looks amazing on the Masters of Cinema blu.
