If you were going to do It Happened One Night, your clue would be a drawing of one knight, not this complicated pictogram
I think it works, you wouldn't just use a drawing of one night because the title is a little bit of a Dirty Joke, so you want to also illustrate the all important "It" that happened one night, you would have One Knight and a visual representation of "the walls of Jericho -coming- down" (the walls of Jericho being the metaphor the film uses for sex).

ROUGH NIGHT IN JERICHO? No Dino or George Peppard in the collection... :D

Is this out of the running? Because it seems more relevant to the clue.

As I said initially, it's probably not something Criterion would release.

It Happened One Night is almost certainly correct.

Wasn't Capra's It's a Wonderful Life also one of the New Years drawing? So we can expect many Sony Capra's.

Was that the angels? And didn't that turn out to be the Demy box?

That was for Breaking the Waves.

Besides, It's a Wonderful Life is a Paramount (Republic Library) title, not Sony.

Also, I would think that It's a Wonderful Life is way too bankable for Paramount to want to license out to any boutique label, even one as successful as Criterion. Of course, I've thought that about a few of Criterion's recent releases...

That's cool. I like IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT and all but I'm one of those dickheads that would prefer a shitty B Western over something that's well-represented.

I'm really hoping it's a sign that Criterion picked up all the Capra titles from Sony. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is a particular favorite of mine.

Perhaps some Hawks or Cukor will follow.

Did we ever figure out what this one was from a few years ago?

I've always thought that Blu upgrades of Stray Dog and Drunken Angel would be pretty unlikely because the condition of the elements would make it difficult to impossible to get an impressive-looking transfer.

They posted a few years ago an image of a Drunken Angel film can, implying it was getting a new transfer. Maybe they're just sitting on it.

I would like to see Criterion invite Kim Cattrall to come up with a top 10 list for one of these newsletters. She's always plugging art films and often praises Criterion and Janus films. You don't see many women championing speciality pictures and geeking out over Criterion discs.

It would be fun to see people taking it as a sign that Criterion is going to release Porky's

No, it's clearly Mannequin.

In a surprise twist, it's actually a hint for City Limits.

Unfortunately, Meshach Taylor is one classic Hollywood Criterion isn't interested in
