That blog might as well be called "what middle class people like".

Racially-motivated humor is one small notch below Juno on the hilarity scale. Sorry Cutting-Edge White People Blog.

That whole site feels like Maddox's less linguistically vulgar best friend wrote it.

Perhaps the blogger has his/her categories all wrong?

I made it through three entries, but the blog was too stupid and unfunny for me to continue. There are funny racial stereotypes that you can make about bourgeois crackers (like me!), but this blog doesn't have it.

Uhh, "selling out" began at its genesis.

Shocking! An inflammatory, flame-baiting post from Criterion Forum's longest wind!

Actually I'm just trying to see what sacred indie ideals Juno has sold out. I didn't realize the film was carrying the torch of independent filmmaking.

If you weren't nuance-deprived, that was the exact point of my post. Applying any notion of "selling out" to a project like Juno or Little Miss Sunshine completely misinterprets their nature. They're "indie" films in name only. Commercial appeal was very much part of the plan and there was a truck full of cash behind both.

Sorry, internet nuances are sometimes lost, especially when I'm sneaking on here at work. Apologies.

Oh, you're sneaking at work? So this thread is the wrong place for those hawt NSFW Diablo Cody stripper pix? Before she sold out, of course.

The Vatican hearts Juno.

Wow! That's bizarre logic. I mean, apart from never thinking that I'd ever hear the adjective "brave" applied to a movie like Juno, the argument that mainstream audiences don't like feel-good movies (or movies that tell of "the beauty of life") seems like a sweeping generalization based on two Oscar contenders in one year.

It's been a while since I left the faith, do they not allow Catholics to proofread anymore?

Juno's decision to have the baby is completely brave when compared to the decision to abort in 4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days. I mean 4,3,2 was just a silly comedy with no social conscience when compared to the deep philosophy and drama of Juno.

The Vatican clearly responded to the film's message of collecting bones.

I think I should get an ice cream cake whenever I make my 100th reference to that line, as I'm sure it's coming up.
