You should be setting your own rules for how films are assigned to years (e.g. year you saw the film, year of release in your country, year of release in the film's country of origin, some complicated algorithm that only makes sense to you, etc.) and stick to those. You can basically ignore the years to which I assign films in the consensus thread, unless your personal rule happens to also be first non-festival theatrical release in the country of origin per IMDb.
