re: The Unbearable Lightness of Being
I don't expect to see this back in print until Criterion licenses another round of MGM titles but it's worth noting that
at some point the rights transitioned from Warner Brothers to MGM.
MGM hasn't reissued the film on either dvd or blu. I don't see them doing so; so it should easily be available for licensing.

All That Heaven Allows/Far From Heaven/Ali: Fear Eats the Soul would be a nice christmas present.

Because there were discussions earlier in the year about Philip Kaufman stopping by the Criterion Collection, I was hoping ...

Pretty sure Criterion is doing The Wanderers

Kaufman's closet video was last year. Since nothing has materialized since then; one would assume that his visit was not related to a forthcoming release. Even if it was; it would be for The Wanderers which is an independent film in which we know that Warner Brothers let the rights lapse.

Frances Ha was released in theaters in May, Before Midnight in June, so if Criterion will be releasing the Before trilogy, I would guess it could be for december. But maybe they want to save it for February and Valentine's day (but they didn't seem to care about Halloween and horror titles, so probably not).

I would think Spartacus might be another title that might be upgraded for December, I was half expecting it in November.
I could see the following as somewhat realistic for December (based on last years anomalous largesse)
Throne of Blood
Spartacus
Eraserhead
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (unless the delay is more substantial than we know, in which case Mulhulland Dr)

Eraserhead
4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days (great holiday viewing for the whole family!)
Le Samourai
Scenes From A Marriage (because I bought the DVD)

Anyone have a list of people who stopped by the office but never contributed anything to a release?

Picnic at Hanging Rock (Blu ray)
L'Avventura (Blu Ray)
Hiroshima Mon Amour (Blu ray)
Y Tu Mama Tambien
Persona
I would be ecstatic if I got one of those.

I'm guessing the December releases are going to be a little unexpected if not totally surprising. My random guesses are:
The Age of Innocence
King of Comedy
Queen Christina
The Long Voyage Home
Rocco and His Brothers
Fat City
Upgrades might include:
An Angel at My Table
Ratcatcher
Picnic at Hanging Rock
Bicycle Theives
Kwaidan
Grey Gardens
The River
I obviously don't think this many titles would come out in one month, let alone December.

King of Comedy is coming from Fox end of October.

I have no idea what to predict for December but I thought I would remind people of some titles that have been in the works for awhile:
Milos Forman stated at a few revival screenings of "Taking Off" over a year ago that Criterion were working on a release. Criterion themselves confirmed it on Facebook years ago.
Monte Hellman mentioned that Criterion were working on "The Shooting" and "Ride in the Whirlwind" and thought they would be out this year.
Wim Wenders said that Criterion were working on a boxset.

are, The Night Porter, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Andrei Rublev, Taste of Cherry, Insomnia, And the Ship Sails on, the only in print, non-anamorphic widescreen dvds left that have not been given an upgrade? I'd think those would be on criterion's radar.
I guess Summertime should be included as well, since it's incorrectly open matte on the current DVD.
I didn't include Armageddon because iirc, Criterion declined to upgrade it, right?

I'd only rebuy
And the Ship Sails On if they included the English version. It's narrated onscreen by the great and inimitable Freddie Jones, and an Italian dub
really doesn't suit him!

Insomnia is, in fact, 16x9-enhanced (Criterion's first such release, if memory serves).

It was their first. Yet they were still inconsistent afterwards for a while (the next anamorphic title was Unbearable Lightness, skipping over the Yojimbo films and Brazil for whatever reason.)

He does have a lovely speaking voice!
I do agree with you (the Italian dubbing is a particular problem in And The Ship Sails On because of all of Jones's speeches directly to camera), although it would be great to have both Italian and English tracks on there if possible.

I'm hoping for a surprise Le Samourai upgrade, but I'm not counting on it.
