He must be Tyler Perry's favorite stand up comedian then.

Can you match the angry self-righteousness of Brad Stine?

If you thought League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was bad, then you haven't seen this

Also, what a horrible cover for this

Twilight Time have perpetrated some truly abominable covers in their time, but I don't think they should take the blame for what's basically the original poster:

Thought the image itself seems to be derived from the cleaner French poster.

That's absolutely hilarious. MASTERpieceS OF CINEMA. They even started a series of these things. At least they put the bluray logo/spine# on a different bar on the cover- making it totally different. This is nearly as awful as Kino's attempts to steal Criterion's old design (plus that blue circle sticker).

MoC really can't catch a break in terms of people stealing their logo/font/layout/style (what ever happened with that proposed lawsuit against that book company?) - though to be fair "Masters of Cinema" is rather generic - but yeah, those Koch bastards knew exactly what they were doing.

edit- They seem to have even copied/stolen MoC's Touch of Evil packaging/special features, (although the cover is a rather awful imitation of the wonderful MoC poster design)

Bonusmaterial :
5 verschiedene Filmfassungen auf 2 Blu-ray-Discs, Originaltrailer, Audiokommentar, Featurettes, Bildergalerie

For the content, I'm quite sure they haven't "stolen" them, but rather licensed them.

I meant the cover, which is a rather blatant copy of MoC's design. Isn't it an original design by Eureka/MoC? (or is it based on any poster?). Either way, its a rather bold move on Koch media's part (copying MoC's logo design + covers)

It seems indeed it's based on a new design from MoC, I don't think MoC used an existing vintage material.

By Special Features, though, I thought you meant the Bonusmaterial.

My apologies, I worded everything rather confusingly. Basically, copying= bonus features (from Universal), stealing=cover (I put in too many "/"s).

That said, it is rather convenient that they include 5 different versions of the film as well (I'm guessing the three versions of the films with two of those versions in two different aspect ratios- which is strange, since MoC was originally going to do six, but then canceled one of them at the last minute for some reason). Also the MoC poster appears to be based on this. So Koch just decided to randomly go with the same cover scheme loosely based on that original poster :P

I wonder what MoC has to say about all of this (given that they were ready to go to court over that book publisher's use of "Masters of Cinema"). Perhaps this is like that Korean video company that randomly used the same designs/bonus features that Criterion used (that Make Way for Tomorrow dvd). Oh well.

BTW, these Koch covers are just awful:

It really does make you think how Hollywoodized the 40 year Old Virgin is. His toy collection is decidedly tasteful compared to some of the pre-pubescent "man-caves" you see on the internet with the wizard staffs and pewter casts of famous orcs and what have you. Who could possibly stand to have that thing in their home?

Yeah...Electro looks cool in the actual film and all (just from what I've seen mind you, it's not out in the US obviously) but I'll just stick with the regular Blu-Ray covers.

To be fair, that's what the (just-as-dreadful) theatrical poster looked like.

At first I thought you were joking but then I clicked on the link. I have to ask, what? The hilarious thing about that cover is that it's so bland, you can slap on any War movie title on it and just leave it at that.
