I have the Hongkong BD and Korean BD, and would like to second calls for The Grandmaster to be presented (if it's going to be included at all) in all three cuts, with the HK original cut cleaned up etc.

Perhaps 2046 may receive an individual release? To my understanding Janus has rights to all the restorations?

Is 2046 no longer under Sony?

That would make zero sense

It turns out that Sony did help out with the restoration for 2046. Hopefully this means that Criterion will be able to license it from Sony.

2046 will be included in the box. Don't ask me how I know, but I know it to be a fact from someone close to the source.

Apropos of nothing, there are remarkably few GIFs from Michael Mann's 1999 best picture nominee on the internet.

I have zero info on the Fellini set, sorry.
I live a few hundred miles SW of SLC and have no relation to swo...purely a username coincidence.

Ashes of Time will be included?

If WKW asked you to be in his next movie, would you even bother to read the script first?

Why bother -- he changes everything when shooting anyway.

A Criterion-ready version of any of the pre-Redux cuts of this film (there are at least three IIRC...) would require a serious restoration effort. We probably, though not certainly, would have gotten wind of such a thing long ago. There's also the issue of Criterion needing to collaborate with Wong and Wong still (AFAIK) preferring his Redux to any of the previous versions. On the other hand, wasn't Redux prepared in 720p? What a mess.

So it seems there's a chance this will include:
Janus Films titles:
AS TEARS GO BY
DAYS OF BEING WILD
CHUNGKING EXPRESS - #453 - DVD & Blu-ray OOP
FALLEN ANGELS
HAPPY TOGETHER
IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE - #147 - DVD is in print but Blu-ray is "Currently Unavailable" at the CC website
THE HAND - a new director’s cut / segment from "Eros"
jwo17 source:
2046 via Sony
What about... ???
ASHES OF TIME - Sony / DVD only (US)
MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS - Weinstein Co. / DVD only (US)
THE GRANDMASTER - Lionsgate / DVD & Blu-ray

I only just realized the opening line of Of Montreal’s
“Rapture Rapes the Muses” is saying “You hit me so hard like a Wong Kar-Wai beginning.” Thank you for coming to my TEDx Talk

do you think that is almost sure that 2046 will be a part of the WKW Criterion box set ? [-o< (there's this Korean (?) BR release but there is obviously a problem with the frames)
this is my favorite movie with "In The Mood For Love".
I'm a huge fan of "Fallen Angels" too but I think that the Kino (?) Blu-Ray was already damned good and I had bought Chungking Express Criterion blu-ray when it was released.
I hope that "The Hand" (from "Eros") will be released. There is a nice iTunes (?) WEB 1080 release but with ingrained subtitles.

The Korean blu ray is worse than the Sony DVD of 2046.

The Korean blu ray of 2046 is SD image on a blu ray disc.
