I'm pretty sure (although there's conflicting info on this, and I'm far from an expert) that miniDV was internally limited to the 16-235 NTSC luma range, even on PAL tapes.

Finally. It's been almost exactly a year since the pre-orders initially went up. Good to see Boyle being direcly involved, always assumed the delays were due to that.

Abandon Ship (aka Seven Days from Now) (1957) is getting a 4K UHD only release TBD this summer, not only skipping a BD release like Talk of the Town or the Richard Pryor stand-up films, but never even having a DVD release in the US.

I'll Do Anything Blu-ray set for August 18th.

Also The Swan Princess on 4K the same day.

I've thought about "upgrading" the original musical version of I'll Do Anything with the available HD master out there (even before this announcement, the full HD transfer of I'll Do Anything's theatrical cut was available through iTunes), but I thought it was merely okay. Preferable to the theatrical version, but still not great.

It'd be really cool if they were able to include the musical version, which is a mess but a fun one
