I like all the month's covers aside from Walker, mostly because I really liked the original DVD cover which had all of the busy background imagery and anachronistic typographic stylings clashing against each other.
EDIT: I've never talked about it before because I was not sure if he intended it for public consumption but back in 2009 I received a really nice PM message on the forum from Marc English, who designed that original Walker DVD cover, and who confirmed that the clashing texts on that previous cover had been a conscious decision so as to mimic the anachronistic approach of the film itself.

Can't wait to own the Sega Genesis Walker game. If that was the original poster art, yikes.

Interesting pull. The thing for me it immediately conjured was the graphic design on the classic Blue Note albums of the 60s and 70s. The photo treatment and the typography is definitely meant to look like that:

It is mostly the original poster:

...but I have to say I always liked it. Ed Harris' face is obscured, but I think that's actually a decent move––implying faintly that a character like Walker can really be anyone willing to serve the empire.

Does TIME not have the line about “a continuing series of important classic and contemporary films” on the back, or is it just obscured in the photo somehow?

Yeah, it appears to be missing entirely, admittedly didn't notice.. I know the mission statement has been altered on releases but don't recall it ever missing before.
Double checked
One Night in Miami just to make sure it's not an Amazon thing, but it's there. So no idea why it's missing here.

Interesting, thank you. Reminds me of when I was a kid and some random baseball card would be missing a logo or something.

I really like the collages (particularly those with newsprint elements), but I agree that they weren’t quite right.

Those are all bad. This apparently just needed a different designer

Looking at the designer's work, with all the faces in close-up and cut in pieces, he'd make good covers/packages for 70s political thrillers, documentaries, nervous stuff about someone losing their mind or exploring it. Bring him back for something like Kachyna's The Ear ?
I'm glad they went with the minimalist option in the end, as none of these work. I'm okay with the final packaging though.

What's funny is that it looks like Skillman explicitly asked him to then focus on the packaging aspect rather than the illustrations, and he still ended up with the 2 side sleeves opening toward the center of the digi rather than the outside, and the discs' positions' markers being hidden UNDER the discs they're supposed to help us locate.
Fascinating.

Comparing the spine pic with the dual format release it looks like the new 4K is slightly thinner (waiting on the corrected version to pick it up myself).

It is, yes, because it doesn't have to accommodate the single-disc tray that was in the dual-format release

Does anyone have suggestions for a good site where I could find replacement Scanovo cases other than Casetopia? Their double-disc cases have been out of stock for a while now, probably stuck on a barge somewhere...

I ordered some from
BluRaysForEveryone a few months ago, and while they weren’t cheap, they came quickly and well-packaged.

I got the DVD edition of this from my local library and noticed that the audio commentary was not mentioned on the back cover either. (This is in contrast to Chris's pic of the BD edition on this site.) The commentary
is on the disc though.
As a sidenote, without paying attention to the film's synopsis and only knowing the cover, I was expecting this to be a sci-fi flick from some Shane Carruth type. This is not quite accurate. For starters, this is Garrett Bradley:
Does this mean the
Time cover is a failure? Who am I to judge?

I just received Citizen Kane via Amazon. It had more dents than a demolition derby. Ugh. BTW... did they discuss the design after a happy hour.
