Well done. And damn that's exciting! I only wish it'd be a collection of Errol Morris. Lord knows he has enough classics to fill a lot of discs.

I hope that means we're getting the long-rumored early Morris box. Heck, throw in Fast Cheap and Out of Control while you're at it, CC.

I was beginning to think that this wasn't ever going to happen and that Jonathan Sehring (president of IFC) was pulling my leg when he said Criterion was picking this up. He also mentioned that Vernon, Florida and Gates of Heaven would go with it, so HAPPY FUCKING DAY!!!!
Another trilogy of confirmations = Errol Morris' Gates of Heaven, Vernon, Florida and the Thin Blue Line will be happening. Tabloid is still possible, but Becker and Turrell aren't sure it's major Morris.
With Love Streams and this coming out through Criterion, my Criterion wishes have been answered for the year.

Depressing aside: the "thin lion" newsletter clues bring back a sad memory for me of a time when I was living in Guatemala: the lion kept in the local zoo became increasingly emaciated and eventually starved to death in captivity. On a somewhat brighter side, The Thin Blue Line led to a review of one of countless wrongful convictions in the U.S. "justice" system, and someone wrongly imprisoned for 12 years was released. He lived in such obscurity that his 2010 death wasn't covered in the media until over half a year later. Hoping there's much opportunity for supplemental materials for this release.

Glad to see CC giving Documentaries some much needed love this year. I hope Gates of Heaven comes next tout suite...

Maybe it's nothing special. Maybe Criterion just taught a lion to eat tofu.

What is "Me trying to watch my discs that have turned brown"?

Eyes Wide Shut?
Edit: I suppose Don't Look Now does make more sense.

Definitely Don't Look Now. Fantastic news. Should hopefully turn out much better than the Studio Canal Blu-Ray.

I thought the Don't Look Now and Eyes Wide Shut guesses were because the image wasn't showing up.

Don't know why the image wouldn't show up for some of you. Look, I posted it here the same way that I always do. Now can you see it?

Oh yeah, you know what, my hand was accidentally covering my eyes. Now I see it. Thanks.

I thought the drawing was a reference to Criterion's tactic for dealing with the browning Blu-rays

Fantastic news, one of my all-time favorites. I never looked at the UK blu-ray, but the old Paramount disc had some pretty mediocre audio which I hope will be rectified here. It's funny how many of my biggest Criterion wishes have come true over the past couple years -- Badlands, Thief, A Man Escaped, Heaven's Gate, Safe, Nashville, Love Streams, Seconds, La Notte, Rosemary's Baby and now Don't Look Now. Now we just need Blow-Up, Cutter's Way, The Tenant, Beau travail, The Parallax View, plus some Rivette, Yang and Ferrara and I'll be a happy camper.
