Thank you for the comments again, everyone.
In response to the comment about the text, yes that occurred to me. When I was making it I was having trouble selecting a font that I felt related to the film in some way. I was already aware of the font on the IE cover, and I began to think about the designer's rationale for choosing it. Both the character of writer and the decaying environment of the zone are expressed in the font and having thought about it for a while I decided that it was the font that was the most interconnected meaning-wise with the film itself.
As for the charcoal comment, Herr smartypants, the original picture actually looks like that. It is taken from the black-and white segment of the film. The only changes I made were blur affects on the edges so that it blended with the color background better.

Pretty good Stalker cover, but perhaps you should have incorporated bright yellow into the design somewhere. Make everything a bit more pixelated, too.
But seriously, good stuff.

I've always loved this French poster for Stalker:

Too subtle. It needs a giant exploding head to really sell it.

I think the poster is gorgeous except for the dog in the door. I dunno why. It just don't completely work.

i was bored and had 20 minutes to waste. here's one i'd like to see get a dvd release at any point in the future, but the potential for extras from a criterion disc would be huge:

With a ravishingly shot film, in which a blow-up of every other frame would make a good poster or DVD cover, that was the best they could do. The mind reels.

Gloria Grahame seems to have her breasts on upside-down.

Either that or she has two duplicates of her nose inside her sweater.

Just an idea of a Criterion set that could have all the miscellany that wouldn't really belong as extras for his main films (like The Merchant of Venice, his 1979 TV special, The Deep, footage from The Dreamers and Moby Dick, etc.)

Kind of a dirty-sounding title. Plus, Orson Welles has a faintly menacing expression on his face there. I don't know that I want to see inside.

That's exactly why I want to see inside.
